| | Rolling Stones Still Life (American Concert 1981) CD (1982) Reissue; Remastered
Place In Time
$7.96 By the early '80s, the Rolling Stones were one of the last remaining groups leftover from the original "British Invasion" two decades prior. One of the main reasons for this was the Stones' ability to keep pace with the musical climate of the time, without losing any of their original blues-sleaze. Their 1982 live set (fourth overall) STILL LIFE, was taken from performances from their hugely successful U.S. tour a year before, when Mick, Keith and company headlined the biggest outdoor stadiums and vast arenas.
Although it lacks the youthful and unpredictable energy of their earlier concert albums (namely 1970's GET YER YA YA'S OUT), STILL LIFE showed that the Stones still had plenty of gas left in their tank 20 years down ...

| | Frank Zappa & The Mothers Of Invention Roxy & Elsewhere CD (1974) Remastered
Place In Time
$8.15 Pricipally recorded live at The Roxy, Hollywood, California from December 10-12, 1973; the Auditorium Theater, Chicago, Illinois in 1974; Edinboro State College, Edinboro, Pennsylvania on May 8, 1974.
It's no secret that one of the most powerful weapons in Zappa's arsenal was his sense of humor, which was at its height in live performance. Consequently, there's no better way to get a feel for the full scope of Zappa's music than on the live ROXY & ELSEWHERE. This set finds Frank at his mid-'70s peak, working with Ruth Underwood, Don Preston, George Duke, etc. While all the tunes are technically impeccable (often featuring trademark feats of counter-intuitive derring-do), it's Zappa's humorous interaction with the band and the audience that puts the real spark into this recording.

| | Siobhan O'Malley Permanent Markers CD (2004)
Place In Time
$14.79 Siobhan O'Malley took the New York City music scene by the lapels and hasn't looked back since! Her music is a mix of pop, country, folk, rock and blues. Her lyrics are often funny and/or poignant and/or witty. From the desolation as described in "The Fundy Bay Forecast" to the humorous dress-up story as described in "Slips My Mind", Siobhan's lyrics run the gamut. Her voice is often gritty but can definitely have a little (Northern) twang to it. Her voice and guitar/banjo/piano ...
| | Carolynn Black Let It Go CD (2001)
Place In Time
$12.55 I am a lover of music - always have been, always will be. The opening lyric of "Let it go" pretty much says it all: "When I was a little girl, my momma told me that music makes the world go round." That's it right there. I have always been surrounded by music - whether it was the 10 years of classical piano I thought I'd never get through, discovering the blues at a dive bar in DC, or enjoying one of many Allman Brothers shows at the Beacon - music has been an ever present source of joy and release in my life. Music is my friend. Corny, but oh, so true. Fortunately, it seems that I am not alone. I have been lucky enough to find other musicians who not only share this feeling, but also know how to groove. New York is a city full of fantastic musicians who all know that at the end of the day, it's all about the groove. So I've been living in Brooklyn since the end of 97' and trying to sing with as many of these cats as is possible. In the spring of 1999 I formed Carolynn Black & The Blues - a five-piece blues outfit with a little bit more. We'd always start out with a blues or two to warm up, stretch out, take a walk around the block, and then venture out into the different worlds of rock, country, funk and jazz. I've always thought that music should take you on a journey. We hosted a weekly blues jam for almost two years at The Wreck Room, a cozy little Greenwich Village bar, allowing us the opportunity to really experiment and work on my original tunes, culminating on the release of our debut, "Let it go" in March, 2001. Self-produced, and wholly collaborative in effort, "Let it go" contains nine original tunes, and "I can't make you love me," an homage to one of my all -time heroes, Bonnie Raitt. The songs range in style from country to rock, ...

| | Kathy Corliss Appletree CD (2002)
Place In Time
$13.15 In 2002 Kathy Corliss released her debut album entitled Appletree. Shortly thereafter she was diagnosed with leukemia which cut her life and budding songwriting career short. Kathy left us with some incredible music which intensely reflects the human experience. From driving melodic rock to the title song Appletree which show her jazz influences, the album crosses over brilliantly. Her beautiful, sometimes haunting alto vocals and soulful music weave a story told in the poetic lyrics of this incredible album. Kathy wrote five more insightfully beautiful songs which have not yet been released. "Appletree is a legacy of love and tenderness. We may never know how brightly Corliss' star might have shone, but it did glimmer for a short while and will stay radiant in ...
