| | O'Connor, JJ & Mark JJ Oconnor CD O'Connor, JJ & Mark Discography of CDs
This EP was the first album by the father/son duo JJ and Mark O'Connor (band name Universe Narrows, website at www.universenarrows.com.). All songs were composed, recorded and produced in Mark's basement studio. Although the title of the album was originally JJ O'Connor, listeners told them the album should be titled after the second track, Lenin's Head. The giant head of Lenin mentioned in the lyrics actually exists in Ulan Ude near Lake Baikal in Siberia. The tall, alluring woman wearing an "old pilotka" is fictional. $17.75 Orange's origins lie (no pun intended) in a foreign country. In fact, Orange's life began in the clean room of a large Japanese drum machine manufacturing company. (Hereafter referred to as LJDMMC.) How this came about is really not all that strange. Allow me to explain. You see, as everyone knows, drummers have certain tendencies not found in other species. The main one being their bizarre attitude towards answering "drummers wanted classifieds". Another one is their reluctance to show up, and of course the tendency to be loud is almost impossible to control. These known characteristics of drummers resulted in the invention of electronic replacements and created wealth and happiness amongst a large sector of the human race. The Japanese were happy from all the money they were making off of Americans, and musicians everywhere were happy for a while, because the emotional trauma created by drummers was cured by their electronic replacements, "The Drum Machine." Of course as it always is on Earth good things come to an end. The end here being the lack of feel and soul of these so called electronic "human rythm composers". As the demand for the machines decreased the owners of the LJDMMC had their marketing people undertake a major research project to find out how to regain their sales. It wasn't long before they determined -(by countless questionaires disguised as song contests)- that the only way to get back on top was to design a hybrid drum machine created from silicon and human DNA. This would hopefully result in a self learning, sentient drum device with all the skills and "feels" (no pun intended) of a human drummer only with perfect timing plus the essential volume control and off switch. This suggestion was immediately put into action by the owners of the LJDMMC as they weren't really electrical engineers but bio-chemists who after getting their PHD's couldn't find a job. This led them to spend their idle hours playing with electronics and writing text books about their hobby. Soon these text books were snatched up by all the technologic universities and monthly book clubs and they were millionaires before anybody could figure out what ...

JJ Oconnor CD music
$17.69 Greetings! I am a singer and saxophonist from the Central Maine area. I started singing in the youth and adult choirs of the church and learned to play many instruments including saxophone, guitar, flute drums and bass. I attended the University of Maine in Augusta and graduating with a BS in Jazz and Contemporary Music, majoring in saxophone and vocals. It gives me great pleasure to perform and many folks say I sing with conviction, power and soul reminiscent of my vocal influences, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin and Etta James. I was a featured artist at the 2002 North Atlantic Blues Festival held on July 21 in Rockland, Maine and performed at the 2002 Giving Hunger the Blues Festival in Sarasota, FL, the 2002 Maine Brewer's Festival and the 2002 Maine Festival. This CD is played regularly on local and national radio stations and my song "Left Me Lonely" is featured on the nationally released CD "Underground Highway - Blues Jam Volume 2" produced by Southern Records Group. I represented the Maine Blues Society in Memphis TN on January 29, 2004 in the International Blues Challenge as part of the dynamic female duo "The Mojo Mamas". This was my second appearance in the IBC, her first being in February 2002 competing with my band the Pat Pepin Project. This annual event, sponsored ...

JJ Oconnor album
$5.95 The first half of this disc contains studio tracks, the rest is live.
By the late '70s, Mahogany Rush were no longer simply Mahogany Rush; they were billing themselves as Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush, which was appropriate given that frontman Marino had done so much to shape the power trio's sound. Not only was Marino Mahogany Rush's lead singer and guitarist, he was also the person who wrote all of the songs on studio albums like 1972's Maxoom, 1974's Child of the Novelty, and 1975's Strange Universe. So when Tales of the Unexpected came out in 1979, none of Marino's admirers complained about seeing the ...
