Eric Fischer was born in Gainesville, Florida on February 23, 1981. A classically trained pianist, he began his study of the piano at the age of seven and started composing original music while still in high school. He completed course work for a BA in business administration from the University of Florida, graduating with honors in 2002. When in college, he received formal vocal training, and he was influenced by a variety of musical styles including rock, r & b, jazz and new age. In February 2003, Eric got a job with Carnival Cruise Lines as a piano bar pianist/singer after building an extensive repertoire of cover songs. Since then, he has performed on six cruise ships as well as at numerous venues throughout the U.S.Eric’s CD “Dreamscapes” is a collection of original piano instrumentals containing soothing yet melancholy melodies. Listeners will be taken on a musical journey to a place of relaxation and reflection. $6.69 Many new age-oriented artists succeed by choosing either the all-acoustic piano path or delving fully into the synth realm. Bitte has a good time mixing the two, creating what could be called new age fusion with a whimsical jazz sensibility. The problem for the most part here is that while his grooves are usually strong and the vibe (whether atmospheric or more stark) interesting, he lacks the lush melodic sense that characterizes the best smooth jazz or new age artists. The title track has a meandering atmospheric haze behind a spacey synth melody that just keeps repeating. "Safe House" features a peppy rock piano harmony riff, but the synth electric guitar melody sounds too, well, synthetic, and there are too many repetitive drum fills. He keeps switching gears, which keeps listeners on their toes, but for what? His successful genre compatriots do best when building upon a single emotion or vibe. "Inner Peace" is moody and dark, ...
