Jesus Christ said in the Revelation 3:16 “if you are lukewarm I will spew you out of my mouth.” It was those words that pricked Charles’ heart and made him realize that he should live a lifestyle of worship and not just play the part when there was a church service going on.Growing up as a preacher’s kid it was very easy for Charles to portray the “good guy” image and pretend that everything was perfect. After serving in the ministry however, as a worship leader, singer, and songwriter since the age of seventeen, Charles has realized what serving Jesus Christ is all about. There is a lost and dying world out there today, and now at the age of twenty-four Charles has a compassionate heart to accomplish the following with his ministry:•PROVIDE worship opportunities where two or more people can gather together in the name of Jesus Christ (Matthew 18:20)•PREPARE the hearts of individuals to receive Christ's love and experience true worship (Ephesians 4:12)•PRAISE the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through song, prayer and teaching of the Word (James 5:13)•PRESENT the Gospel of Jesus Christ in it’s simplicity so that unbelievers may come to know Him (Romans 15:16)Thank you for taking this opportunity to witness how Christ is using Charles Owens II. 'Bryan's Bizaar' is an album conceived and produced by multi-instrumentalist Bryan Owens.After playing with various traditional music line-ups in the South Island of New Zealand, this CD was recorded as a document of the diverse folk music he had learned from various musicians of the region. You might say that the roots of this recording began at a Fleadh in Listowel, Ireland.It was there that he first met Darren Hurly, who then played the Irish Bouzouki.They crossed paths a year later at the Will Clancy Summer School in Milltown Malbay, where Darren was just beginning to play the fiddle.After another highly unlikely 'chance' meeting, a rambling journey through the South Pacific was discussed and soon undertaken.They spent the next 6 months or so playing Irish traditional music as a fiddle and guitar duo throughout the islands of Raratonga, Fiji, and New Zealand. During these travels, Darren and Bryan attended a small folk festival just outside of Geraldine, N.Z. at a place called 'Wahi Bush'.It was there that Bryan first heard and got to know Patrick Riddett (wooden flute, button accordian, bodhran, and whistles), Adrian Studer (violin), and Bernard Wells (mandolin, guitar, and wooden flute), who were collectively known as 'Potha'.Bryan was immediately 'won-over' by their eclectic mix of European and Irish folk music. A few months later, Bryan ended up living in the same region of the country as the members of 'Potha', and within only a few miles from Patrick Riddett.Here Patrick played with another group called 'Aardvark' (see home page / album photo), which also focused on a wide array of folk music originating mostly in Europe.The musicians included Debbie Price on the tin-whistle and bodhran, Chris Condell on violin, Patrick on his various instruments, and not long after, Bryan on guitar and eventually the octave mandolin.Most of this music was sourced through other musicians, personal collections, recordings sent via friends, through tunebooks such as 'Jolly Jezebel's' and 'Begged, Borrowed, and Stolen', and some were unearthed in the music collections of public libraries. By the time this recording began, Bryan had also become a member of 'Potha'.Yet before the recording was finished, ...
