Beyond The Pale Long Lost Friend CD

beyond the pale's story starts with a couple of friends in highschool. Jim Singleton (drums) and Reed Clendenen (bass) started playing together back in the early 90s during the Nirvana craze with some other friends but with no singer. "The focus for us was simply to play as often and as loud as we could." A few years passed doing weekend practices before Reed left for college. While Reed was away, Jim met guitar player John Hashtak and started spending time on a few songs that John had been working on by himself. A year or so passed and already they had composed several songs. Shortly after John and Jim were making their first CD, Reed came back from college and was eager to get back into familiar territory. Having gone through a few other guitar players and other vocalists, Tara Thompson was the last piece of the puzzle. Her voice and influences seemed to be custom made for the band's sound and direction. Having never sung in a band, Tara was curious at first to see if it would work. "We all knew it was perfect the first time we heard her sing." The band has been together since 1998 and have played numerous shows in Jacksonville, FL. Both headlining for local acts and opening for national ones, the band has drawn large crowds pretty much from the start. Having recorded four CDs in as many studios, they are busy promoting their new release entitled "long lost friend.""This CD (long lost friend) is the culmination of over three years of playing together as a group." Focusing on song structure and melody, the band has created a CD that captures the thoughts and dreams of us all. Having spent the better part of year on this 17 track CD, you can hear the difference in the music. Each track seems to flow to the next leaving little room to question the band's ability to write great songs. "Our goal is to give listeners another option. An option that has an intelligent voice and yet still gets your foot stomping."
