The tempo and tension patiently build until your senses are taken over by the heady and strangely comforting din.L.Rain's penchant for deftly melding her emotive, textural vocals with the guitar-centered backdrop is evident throughout the album and secures the listener's complete immersion into the songs. The approach works just was well for the airy driftings of Free, which is a lovely, four-minute heartbreak, as it does for Widow's Peak, a song that cuts to the core with its disquiet confessions.
