$15.95 JC Mason's BY FAITH Stands Out Written by Mike Parker Sunday, 19 August 2007 By Faithby JC MasonPsalm 108 RecordsThere is no shortage of sensitive, girl-with-guitar, singer/songwriters diligently making their way through the endless labyrinth of Nashville’s dives, bars, coffeehouses, and out of the limelight music venues. The Christian music ghetto has its own set of youth groups, camps, summer festivals, coffee houses, clubs, and out of the limelight music venues - and like its general market counterpart, there are plenty of honey-voiced divas making the rounds, hoping to get noticed by somebody. Occasionally an artist stands out to the point ...

$13.69 Wayne Alex Brooks, a.k.a. Daddy "Roots", cited Rasta in the womb and was born on April 23, 1977 in North Valley, Anguilla, British West Indies The youngest of 16 children in his family, Roots was unlike any of his brothers and sisters by adhering to a strict diet of "ital' pure and natural foods as a youth growing up in this Caribbean nation of 12,000 inhabitants. Roots left school at an early age because he wasn't learning much from it. His best education in life came from the day-to day living in the streets of Anguilla. Roots elaborates: "Nothing comes to you on a platter unless you have a certain position in society. If you are the underdog, you don't get anything and have to fight for everything." Hailing the late, great and sometimes militant Peter Tosh as a major influence, Roots believes that he can carry on with the fallen Reggae icon's message of peace and equality for all of humanity. In 2005, prophecy would be fulfilled as Daddy Roots was selected amongst hundreds of submissions for the Peter Tosh Tribute Album with his contribution of the Tosh-classic "Where You Gonna Run". Roots' religion is love and his reaction to anger and hatred is to walk away with love in his heart and a smile on his face. ...

Simple Girl songs
$18.95 This multi-talented singer/songwriter performs to captivated listeners, who often describe him as being "an extremely talented individual, the finest that SD has to offer. He is just Pure Raw Talent! When performing with a musician like Rory, it allows an entertainer to stretch his/her own musical boundaries to a higher level and create music that is fresh and exciting to listen to."Rory Hoffman received a nomination from CCMA for the 2003 Music Awards for "Entertainer, Musician, & New Artist of the Year". In addition, he has secured a coveted spot on the Power Source Top 20 Music Magazine Christian Country chart with the song "I Don't Care" and the Indie Country chart with the song "I Should Be Fishin". Rory submitted his patriotic song "I Am A Soldier" to radio. For a free download of this song please go to www.roryhoffman.com.Rory Hoffman, a Lemmon, SD native discovered his musical talents at the age of four by creating his own musical playing style. Since his hands were too small to fit around the neck of the guitar, he laid it across his lap and has played it that way ever since. At the age of five he became Roland and the Believers' official drummer. Once his younger brother took up an interest in drums it was natural for Rory to move onto a new instrument. Since then, his horizons have expanded to where he now commands a stunning arsenal of over fourteen instruments. After attending college for two years and majoring in music, he decided that it was time to pursue his musical aspiration, and record a solo album. His first album "Blind Faith" was recorded in Nashville in the fall of 2000 and released December of 2001. It included traditional hymns such as "Amazing Grace", "Just a Little Talk", and "Power in the Blood". The opportunity to record his own album proved to be one of Rory's biggest dreams come true. Plans started being made in the fall of 1998 and it took until the fall of 2000 to complete. Those two years turned out to be his toughest. Numerous setbacks and change in plans caused him to wonder if he was really in God's will. He needed to learn some hard lessons about seeking and waiting. These are points he likes to share in his concerts. "For me, waiting on the Lord didn't mean practicing harder, buying and learning to use better equipment, and ardently praying. As long as God didn't ...

Simple Girl music CDs
$12.69 Luck and Trouble is the collaboration of former Refreshments (TV's KING OF THE HILL theme, "BANDITOS")guitarist/songwriter Brian Blush and Detroit based musician/producer Bob Monteleone. MALFUNCTION JUNCTION was released on Hanzie Records in 2002 to great acclaim and featured a mix of straight ahead rockers ("Attitude", "Worst Case Scenario")and Americana styled ballads like "Say Something" and "The Difference". VALPO (2005)is MALFUNCTION JUNCTION'S follow-up and fulfills on that album's promise. The opening track, "One Hit Blunder", quickly became one of Brian Blush's most beloved songs. Any song that starts with the line "I wanna grow up to be an old Ramone, not a middle aged man on a cellular phone" most definitely means business! Shortly after that Brian rhymes "Butowski" with "about me". The title is, of course, a play on the phrase "One Hit Wonder", which might be interpreted as a reference to Brian's Refreshment's days. With Bob's Stratocaster hook and sing-a-long chorus with real handclaps, "One Hit Blunder" is 3 minutes of pure pop bliss. Track 2 is a gorgeous tune that Brian felt sounded great in headphones that's called, well, "Headphones". It's a slightly misleading title in that it's not really a psychedelic, Pink Floyd-ish song. What Brian might have enjoyed about the headphone experience was the extended coda that features Bob's weeping lead lines panned all over the place over what sounds like a fretless bass playing a part reminiscent of John Paul Jones' figure on Led Zeppelin's "Ramble On". The tune itself is early Wilco-ish and features the line "What doesn't kill her makes her stronger", but the singer turns that idea completely around by the end to "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger". ...
