| | Kristin Chenoweth As I Am CD (2005)
Blessed album
$9.99 Kristin Chenoweth's 2001 album was a collection of standards that showcased her winning soprano and remarkable ability to shift from Broadway brassy to "My Funny Valentine"-sultry at the turn of a note. Let Yourself Go was a great follow-up to her 1999 Tony win for You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. But since then Chenoweth has branched out from Broadway, particularly into acting (She joined the cast of West Wing in 2004), and As I Am reflects her higher profile. It's a personal album that mixes country and adult contemporary instrumentation in a set featuring hymnal book standards and contemporary Christian favorites. Chenoweth herself is pictured ...

Schulz. Paired with Guaraldi's successor Ed Bogas, Désirée contributed featured songs and underscore for several prime-time CBS network Peanuts' specials and 25 Saturday morning shows featuring ...

| | Shere Not Los Angeles CD (2003)
Blessed album
$11.39 Formed during the summer of 2003, the San Diego based duo; Shere didn't waste any time to write and record their debut full length album; Not Los Angeles. The eleven song opus was released three months later on one of the youngest San Diego label North Park Records. The two members of Shere are the current bassist-vocalist of Channing Cope Ali Deniz Ozkan and the ex frontman of Sugar Kane & Swoan; David Stir. In fact the very first time these two musicians started playing music together was during the mid 90's; February 94' to be more accurate. Stir was looking for a bass player to complete his band Swoan. Ozkan responded to an ad posted by Stir and that's how everything got started. They played together for five full years, the band opened for prestigious bands such as, Mogwai, Arab Strap, Royal Trux, dEUS, Drug Store, Marouse (ex members of "La Manonegra) and The Godfathers. When listening to the music of Shere the first words that are coming in mind are intimate and minimalist. The duo uses soft harmonized voices accompanied with a warm sound of a piano Rhodes and drony bass lines. The duo doesn't ...
| | Roger Silverberg Sketches & Footprints CD (2005)
Blessed CD music
$9.49 Roger Silverberg grew up at one of the more opportune times for music. The AM radio dial in the 50s and 60s was alive with Rock 'n Roll, Country, Blues, Doo-Wop, R & B, and styles that have (much) later been lumped into the broad Americana categories. It is hardly a surprise that bits and pieces of all these should be present in his songwriting and performing style. Roger grew up loving the live music experience. His father came from a large mid-western family where everyone sang and played. Early favorites of Roger’s included Hank Williams, The Everly Brothers, Buddy Holley ᾽ all musicians his dad listened to. But the house was filled with records by Ella Fitzgerald, the Mills Brothers, and others. Roger played those 78s and 45s and rapidly became curious about the variety of sounds out there. (The roots of his "music without walls" philosophy?) A guitar player since 1963, Roger gave his first solo performance in 1964 (doing Roger Miller’s King of the Road), formed his first band in 1966, wrote his first serious songs in 1969-70, and performed regularly with bands and as a soloist throughout the 70s in the Philadelphia, PA area. Relocating to New York in 1982, Roger gravitated to the Greenwich Village scene and played everywhere from open mics and on the street to some of the venues that are still there on Bleeker Street. No, the Bottom Line was not one of them, sorry to say. The move triggered a wave of new songs, some of which Roger still puts into his set.Now based in Huntington, Long Island, ...
