Chazz Dixon Back To The Groove CD

Chazz is back with a top-notch urban set, produced by "J". This CD cooks form start to finish. Newcomers will be swept in by Chazz' superlative vocals, while old fans will discover that Chazz is "Back To The Groove". Actor/Singer/SongwriterChazz Dixon is a singer/songwriter/actor. He's been performing on stage since the age of 4 and signed his first deal at the age of 17. His velvet high-pitched voice is a blend of sensual R&B with an under tone of soft-core jazz . . . sexual. During February of 2001 he scored with the number 1 song on MP3's Urban Contemporary Chart (INCLUDE NAME OF SONG CHAZZ) and R&B Chart. In Dec 2005 he scored the number 1 spot again with a song from his debut CD on Da'Soul Recordings, (Back To The Groove) the sublime, "Have We Lost It", featured on MadHouz Internet radio Chicago. He's formed several groups through the years with an emphasis on vocals. With the help of Aki Aleong (former manager of Berry White, Mandrell and jazz man Norman Conners) he began developing his extraordinary skills. Harvey Fuqua (songwriter/producer/former VP Motown Records) stepped in like a big brother and helped develop the details of his stage persona . . . lights, stage, performance rider, etc. In 2004 Chazz was elected vice president of Da'Soul Recordings where he presently serves as senior VP. His responsibilities include heading graphic arts (cd art, photography, etc...) and signing new acts. In addition to those duties, Chazz continues to travel with a six-piece ensemble of musicians and singers. The team has performed together both on stage and in the studio for the past 14 years. Not content to simply rest on his past achievements, Chazz shares his vast talents with his fellow artists. For instance, Chazz is a gifted writer and vocal arranger and has co-written and or co-produced tracks for several Da' Soul Recordings Artists such as Gary Brown, Sonny Garr, Carmen Nickerson, Renee, Anita Easterling, and Ricardo. Chazz has also been kind enough to lend backing vocals on tracks for many of the aforementioned artists. Currently, Chazz can be heard lending his velvet smooth backing vocals to a song Co-written with Lead Producer "J", "Just A Matter Of Time", a featured track on Ricardo's new CD "Hold Tight". As previously mentioned, Chazz heads the graphic arts department at Da'Soul Recordings. In reality, Chazz is a gifted photographer who interned with French photographer Charles Ladiscier (Paramount Studios). Chazz learned his lessons well and has put his skills to use for many a Da' Soul Recordings Artist. He has done photo shoots for several of the Da' Soul Recordings Artists, which later appeared on their CD projects. Chazz, not only conducts the photo shoots for the artists but also works with the artists in producing cover art and design for the vast majority of Da' Soul Recordings CD Projects.

Proudly, in addition to singing and recording, Chazz serves on the Chicago local of the Screen Actors Guild sitting on several committees. He's appeared in commercials, television, film, and occasionally works as a print model when time permits. Chazz is also a published journalist, poet and photographer.

With all the responsibilities that Chazz has when does he have time to sing? I sure don't know but rest assured that he does indeed find the time. His current project "Let Me Be The One" is filled with those soothing, sensual, and soulful velvet smooth vocals that his fans have come to expect, with just the right mix of toe tapper stepper friendly grooves to make for the perfect party mixer. There are outstanding remakes, with which Chazz adds his own special flavor, of 'Can This Be Real', originally by Natural Four and 'What's Come Over Me' by the legendary Blue Magic.
