ROCK ON!""It's very unique and gets ya sucked in. I like those little pinch harmonics thrown in. This stuff is very Vai, Satch, Johnson like. The picking is very clean and solid. The backing guitars sound great with the lead too. "From Soundclick.com"It actually tears at your heart and works its way up and causes your entire body to tingle. I mean, this is just SO good that I am really at a loss for words...this track is pure audio instrumental orgasmic bliss "From Distant Words"...VERY reminiscent of a Dream Theater instrumental."From Mixposure.com"This is brilliantly played and the use of other guitar sounds makes it even better! | | Farhatt, Alowishious & Soapbox Derby Revival Band Soundtrack Of The Apocalypse CD (2006)
Drawn To The Flame album
$16.45 Alowishious FarhattAlowishious Farhatt was assembled late in the year of 2001 when local high school musicians Rick Patoray, Kenny Thomas and Zach Bossart decided they needed to revive the soul of rock and roll. Paying homage to their musical inspirations, the trio started off by adapting classic rock, blues, and country tunes. The first song they learned as a band, Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire," was quickly transformed into an up-tempo, rockabilly thrill ride. At that point the band knew what direction they wanted to head with their music. The band started playing in local clubs and bars in the Northern VA area, their setlist including an extremely wide variety of music genres such as Classic Rock, Rockabilly, Blues, Country, 50's Doo Wop, and old timey Rock and Roll. They bestowed upon themselves the title "Alowishious Farhatt." "Alowishious" was a name inspired by a line in a Primus song as well as a name mentioned in the film "O Brother Where Art Thou," while "Farhatt" was a name that Patoray saw on a job application at a local restaurant he worked at. Alowishious has something for everyone. They play tunes from a variety of bands and musicians, going all the way back ...
| | Terry Matsuoka Raw Acoustic Stylee CD (1999)
Drawn To The Flame CD music
$9.85 History/ BiographyTerry began his solo music career while fronting his band- The Urchin. Playing solo/ acoustic allowed Matsuoka to concentrate on his songwriting and play songs that were a little more laid back than the ones he was playing with his alternative rock band. He began by playing consistently at the Innerchange Coffeehouse in San Diego as his primary venue (at the same time as singer-songwriter Jewel- who eventually recorded her first album there live). The Urchin eventually broke up and then resurfaced with a different line-up as an even harder edged- Blue Elder. After representing Southern California in the Musician Magazine/ Ticketmaster Showcase, Blue Elder disbanded. Matsuoka's solo acoustic gig represented a more consistent artistic outlet than the band dynamic. Even still, Matsuoka has much experience being a band member. In addition to the aforementioned bands in which he sang and played guitar, he has also done the same in indie rock band- Scapegoat, has rapped and human beatboxed in various acts, played just guitar in the hip hop gospel group- Chosen Generation, bass in punk rock band- Halfwit and drums in punk/ funk band- Funkapotimus and funk/ soul band- Blackmilk. In 2000, ...

| | Evan Altshuler Shine All The Time CD (2005)
Drawn To The Flame album
$16.45 Evan Altshuler began a recent concert by asking everyone in the audience to name their favorite flavor of ice cream because he wanted to "get the good vibes flowing." Over the next two hours, Evan and his band (Evan Garfield: percussion, Michael Pedron: bass and special guest George Zhen: piano) figuratively mixed their acoustic instruments together to deliver a flavorful performance of rock, folk, blues, funk and jazz music that was undeniably non-vanilla. Songs like the toe-tapping and humorous "Wet Hot American Summer" had ...
