| | J J Cale Naturally CD (1971)
Chicago Music Scene
$8.15 NATURALLY has stood up over the years as a perfect debut. When released in 1971, it introduced J.J. Cale's rootsy, laid back grooves to excellent effect, and in the decades since, this album and its follow-up, REALLY, have remained classics of mellow '70s country-rock. Riding on the success and easy blues feel of Eric Clapton's cover of Cale's "After Midnight," NATURALLY goes even deeper into roots music, concocting a mixture of country, blues, and boogie that is full of downhome goodness while it drips with cool.
Cale's version of "After Midnight" is here, as is his loping "Call Me the Breeze" (later covered by Lynyrd Skynyrd), and the minimal blues "Crazy Mama" (a radio hit for Cale). The music is deceptively tricky--the surface textures pull you in like a porch swing, but the interlocking rhythmic base ...

| | Nappie Head Phred Nappadelic CD (2004)
Chicago Music Scene
$7.49 I am a hip-hop artist from the streets of Cleveland, Ohio (hometown of Bone thugs-n-harmony). I've been rhyming since the age of twelve and started making demos when I was 16. My first c.d. release in 1998 was called "In my own world" under Darby entertainment and distributed by Solar distribution(owned by E-40's uncle Saint Charles). Due to bad promotion and marketing, "In my own world" did not succeed in record sells but I was back at the lab making more music to put out myself. In 1999 my underground self-release c.d. was called" Brother from another planet". That will be my next c.d release that I will have c.dbaby distribute real soon. Two years later I made the c.d. " Nappadelic" which is the one of the most requested c.d. on college radio in Cleveland, Ohio. Nappadelic is a c.d. full of intellect and comedy (a mixture of Public Enemy and Dave Chappelle). Tracks like "Yo Bref Stank, J.Oing (the masterbating anthem), and Muthaphucka (feat.Mr.Cin) which is a gangsta ...

Chicago Music Scene
$12.69 Jenny Wilson Jazz TrioThe Jenny Wilson Jazz Trio is husband and wife Jenny and Nathan Wilson, and their good friend, pianist Cher Siang Tay. Both Jenny and Nathan are residents of West Virginia and Siang is a native of Malaysia. They met while attending the jazz program at West Virginia University in Morgantown. There was an instant rapport between the three musicians and they began playing together weekly at various music venues in the area. The creation of the CD “Confluence” has a wonderful story. Playing regularly at a Sunday brunch in Morgantown, WV the trio was noticed by a New Orleans native who had been stranded in West Virginia during the terrible hurricanes. He told them that their music reminded him of home and gave him great comfort. He came to hear them week after week after week. Jim (the man from New Orleans) asked for a recording of the trio, and when they told him they did not have one he offered to help them make one. ...
