By some means of fate, you have found this page for 22 Even. All I ask is for a moment of your time to listen to what has been called "one of the best upcoming hardcore bands". Take a listen and see if you agree. If you like anything from Tool, Deftones, Cold, Mudvayne, ....or any very emotional music that goes from melodic to heavy .....you should like this band. Just listen to a clip on this page (it will only take a moment). Thank you for letting us take up a moment in your short time on earth. Below is a review made by Duccio on a website called BoggleProductions.comThe band takes pride in their creation of music with the listener in mind. Not many bands today can actually please listeners while maintaining a unique form. 22 Even has complex song structures, and implements experimental mixes of melodic noise with their heavy grooves. On their website two songs, "Further Into Obscurity" and "Letters", are posted. Both tracks display what it takes to compose a complete song that bounces the listener from many angles. My personal favorite would be FIO. It's got a great hook with a great vocal melody in the chorus. The vocalist does an excellent job in blending his dynamics with the song structure and intensity. His range is enough to keep the track interesting - even as an acapella. It's difficult to find a band with a vocalist that can control vocal intensity as he does. Being able to rip vocals chords apart and spittin the next line with melody is no joke. A technique reminiscent of Chino from the Deftones. During the erraticly loco parts of their tracks 22 Even is extremely tight and clearly annunciates the intended chaos. There are plenty of bridges, breakdowns, and buildups to piece together the verses and choruses in the song structure. The drummer does an excellent job of backboning the groups wide range of dynamics. The guitar flows from very cyclic riffs to choppy noisy cuts to melodic picking and chords. Its full fledged grooves on the choruses are extremely catchy yet unique as experimental aspects of hardcore noise are apparent. The basslines complement the drums and contain well written melodies during the lighter segments. But of course everything becomes tight when necessary. This is truley one of the best upcoming hardcore bands. Try to catch them live in a closeby venue (click on the perfomances link from the main table). Keep your eyes and ears open for Alexithymia, 22 Even's latest work of art...

There aren’t many metal bands as resilient as Low Twelve. Founded in 1998 by bass player and vocalist Pete Altieri and guitarist Tim McCleland, Low Twelve began working on original material with vigor in a basement on West Graham Street in Bloomington Illinois. Together with original drummer Steve Chestney and second guitarist Les Aldridge, Low Twelve performed its first show on February 6, 1999 and has done more than 200 since. They quickly recorded two demos, “Blunt Force Trauma” and “Kill Floor” - each selling nearly 1,000 units each from sales at shows, various retail locations throughout the Midwest, and through their website. In November of 1999, Steve Chestney was replaced with drummer Wes Pollock and the band set to record their first full length CD “Flesh of the Weak”. Immediately after the release of “Flesh” the band supported Pro-Pain on their Round 6 tour for the Midwest dates and began to gather steam in the metal press. Two songs off “Flesh” were put in the jukebox for Sonic Foundry’s Siren Jukebox 2.0 which has sold in the millions to date. This release also saw the song “Brutal World” on the movie trailer and in the film itself for Full Moon Pictures “Jigsaw” which was sold nationwide at Hollywood Video and Family Video stores. In June of 2001, founding member Pete Altieri was diagnosed with cancer, and despite emergency surgery - had to undergo painful chemotherapy treatments. Determined to not stop playing, Pete continued to practice and perform all scheduled shows during his treatments. Ironically on 9/11/01 Pete found out he had beaten cancer and has remained in remission ever since. The treatments left their scar on Pete, as he still battles with painful neuropathy in his hands and feet. Only ...

Heat. Intensity.Expression in the depths.Athletic musicians moving beyond the physical create music of a transient nature. In a world of miracles, these transient moments are captured on a thin, slightly flexible disc, called a CD.Once you acquire this CD, you will be free to explore the discussion.SMOKE SHADOWS begins in the throes of a conversation about life. From the musical perspective, it is rhythms, notes and sounds. From the life perspective, it is heat, intensity, and expression in the depths."Everybody was going through something last summer, when these sessions took place. Some had health concerns, some had lifestyle issues, everyone's in financial difficulty these days, and, being conscious people, we looked around and saw what our world was being made into. It was disturbing, and if there are moments in the music which are disturbing, that's coming from the feelings we had when we looked at it."You can experience the moments for yourself. The opening cut seems to let you in the door to a party already in progress. Soon, you are involved, following as more threads are added to the conversation. There are times when someone leads, and times when textures demand the focus. As the conversation builds in intensity, so does the music. If you follow the threads, they will lead you to the end of the first disc, and into the second. That is where the band kicks into a higher gear, spinning Ornette Coleman-like textures and Miles Davis-like jams.*******You will hear the influences of Art Blakey, Elvin Jones, Jack DeJohnette and Billy Cobham echoed in the percussion section, with drummer Rickie Hopkins being just as at home in the funk pockets of Hip Hop as he is with jazz. Excellent and distinctive bass playing powers J.D. and the Sons of Rhythm, with Dave ...
