Record Of The Worship Community At Green Lake Presbyterian Church buy CD music Written by Samantha Belafonte (Northern Kentucky press) When I first put "Inside The Mind of Donnie Witt" in my stereo, a catchy, aggressive poem begins. Witt assures us that "When you realize that the blind lead the lead, where do you go to see?" and the first song on the CD, "Voices" kicks in with excellent acoustic guitar work. The album seems to follow a theme from the begining to end, starting off chaotic, with visions of paranoia and reflections of society's close minded senses. On "The Underdog" Witt reminds us "I've seen it all spread, through a heart that was dead, from the radio waves you've been fed". By the time you reach track six, (my personal favorite) "The Best Is Yet To Come" (a very strong, personal song, which is in the form of a letter from a father to a son) you begin to get the sense that Witt's remembering the values he was taught as a child....and the rest of the CD goes in a more positive direction from here on out. Songs of life and love....the CD ends with a six minute long audio story, narrated by Witt, taking you straight into the heart of madness and passion. It's been a very long time since I've heard anything like this before, that's so rare and catchy, and quite possibly groundbreaking.

The new album's sound is lyrical, intimate, organic, and full of energy. Avoiding the "sensory overload" approach of modern pop, Jodie and the musicians took their cues from Jodie's biggest influences-the classic bards of the vinyl era: Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan. With Jodie's vocal as the centerpiece, Laith Keilany's dynamic acoustic guitar and exotic cumbus (a fretless Turkish instrument) drive the music forward. Jodie's own guitar anchors full band songs spiced with atmospheric electric guitar, Wurlitzer, and layers of percussion. After being featured on the hit TV show, So You Think You Can Dance, Jodie's music has gained a great reputation among modern dancers. The rhythms and dynamic arc of her music reflects that connection. Part of the proceeds of this album go to the Vanderbilt Cancer Center in Nashville, TN. Laith Keilany, Jodie's musical partner and guitar player for the last twelve years, has been battling stage 4 cancer for the past three years. While his cancer is now in remission, Laith still has many health challenges. This album is a celebration overcoming so much in the last few years and features original music that embodies both grace and power. Record Of The Worship Community At Green Lake Presbyterian Church album for sale Yukon Women in Music is a musical collective that started with several women who recognized a need for a framework to support and encourage women songwriters. The membership now includes about 30 women with musical interests ranging from songwriting to sound technology. Yukon Women in Music is a volunteer-run organization that meets monthly to organize concerts, workshops and fundraising events, as well as to provide networking opportunities for women in and around the Whitehorse area. Most recent successes include the release of the Yukon Women in Music Compilation CD that features 14 YWIM members, as well as the 1st Annual Garden Party held at the Stehelin Ranch.
