Antihero music CDs
$16.45 "I started playing guitar in high school. I lived in a very rural area, and didn't have much to do, and playing music brought something beautiful to my life. It gave me a voice to express myself," reports Melody, singer, songwriter, and producer of "Tangled in Brilliance".At the age of seventeen, Melody put herself and her sister in foster care. She finished high school, and then moved to the bay area to put herself through college. She started to perform in 1995 at a small café in Mountain View CA. "It was really crazy, because sometimes I would be the only female performer, and I would get all of this attention because of it, but what I really wanted to know was, were my songs any good. Sometimes I felt like my clientele wasn't quite right, because I wanted to yell, and cuss, and I kept offending people. Sometimes I felt alone in my angst. It wasn't going over well with the café crowd. And then because I came from a very small town, I didn't know about any underground performers. We didn't even have a grocery store, much less an underground music scene. So I had already been performing for about a year when I learned about Aani DiFranco. It was amazing to hear another woman pissed, and poetic, who didn't want to sound pretty and nice. After graduating from UCSC Melody moved to Albuquerque NM. "Most of the songs for Tangled in Brilliance I wrote in the last three years, many of them in Albuquerque. I was able to live alone for ...

| | JOE PIKET AND THE STORM Tempest CD (2002)
Antihero album
$16.45 JOE PIKET AND THE STORM have been described as "a more edgy Billy Joel", and "the Bruce Springsteen of Long Island". Audiences in New York City and on Long Island have beenblown away by their energy, their musical integrity, and their lyrical originality. Most recently, they have opened for acts such as Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, Randy Jackson of Zebra (twice),and Jason Bonham, son of legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham. They have charted on CMJ, and their music is currently being played on most of the college stations in the tri-statearea, as well as nationally. Rave reviews for their new CD, TEMPEST, have appeared in most papers, including Newsday, Good Times, Aural Fix, and L.I.E. Review by Mike Ferrari from the April 2003 issue of Aural Fix (Volume 3, issue 4) after seeing Joe Piket and the Storm live 3-21-03"So come meet the new Boss...Joe Piket and The Storm...Joe Piket can best be described as the Bruce Springsteen of Long Island. The band plays tight blue collar rock and roll (E Street Band eat your hearts out!)...The songs are all heartfelt and well executed, the usual common man staples of good, popular rock and roll." FROM ANDREW SULO, POWER OF MUSIC PRODUCTIONS: "JOE PIKET AND THE STORM are one of the best-sounding live bands on the Long Island scene. Period. Their music is colorful, the lyrics are meaningful, and their overall sound is sharp and powerful." JOE PIKET - From Good Times, Issue # 831- March 12 to 25, 2002 "In the spirit of Billy Joel and Harry Chapin comes another local singer/songwriter who captures the personality of the every-man; his name is Joe Piket..." "In 1998 Piket received praise for his sensational song-writing abilities on his debut album, ...

| | Brett Vogel Lonely Traveler CD (2004)
Antihero music CDs
$13.89 For as long as he can remember, music has been singer/songwriter Brett Vogel's passion. The first album he purchased was George Harrison's "Cloud Nine." Shortly thereafter he bought his first guitar , and it became his constant companion from that moment onward. "There wasn't really a defining moment when I thought to myself, this is what I want to do with my life. The passion was just a part of me from the beginning. The better I became, and the more feedback I got, the more I began to realize that I could make my dream a reality." He was diligent about attaining this dream and began taking piano lessons, and joined the choir at school. He wanted to dig his fingers into all things musical. At Eastern Illinois University, where he earned his bachelor of finance degree, he assembled his first band, "Berkeley's Dream" with four other guys, and they became a regional favorite, playing gigs at colleges, universities, and bars/venues throughout the Midwest. Brett has since stepped away from the quartet to pursue his career as a solo artist. His solo release, produced by Platinum selling artist/producer Nicholas Gunn, combines tasty guitar melodies and catchy lyrics on songs that explore the emotional depths of love as well as the emotional state of the world today. Brett, 23, was born in a suburban Illinois city. Throughout his life, he has won several vocal contests, and with a vocal range that extends over four octaves, he is a tough act to beat. Brett currently performs with a five piece band. The band consists of Jonathan Miller on the lead guitar and back up vocals, Kyle Theiss on keyboards, Brandon Danger on the bass guitar, and various drummers. Live shows are packed with raw emotion and breath taking energy. Vogel and Miller have had a long relationship together on and off the stage. Vogel and Miller co-wrote ...
