Dan Shull You Tell Me CD

Dan Shull is a Performer/Producer/Writer who also records his eclectic mix of Smooth Jazz/R&B/Pop music at his recording studio, Wit's End, for his Indie Label, Earitation Records. Growing up in a musical family, Dan Shull began studying a wide range of instruments at a very early age. Influenced by the Soul/R&B/Pop and Jazz of the 60’s & 70’s Dan was composing and scoring for both his self & others in his early teens. By age 16 he was simultaneously playing Guitars, Bass, & Saxophone in numerous Rock, Soul & Jazz groups, including Alto Sax with the 16-PC Bob Haas Orchestra. Dan went on to study Theory & Composition at East Carolina University W/ Saxophone applied, and continued to play with Bob Haas on the weekends. In 1998 Dan was asked to help form the Fusion/Blues Trio Bone Daddy, for whom he played Bass Guitar. In November 2000, Wit’s End was converted from a practice facility to a recording studio. Dan spent the next two years arranging, writing, recording & mixing his debut release, You Tell Me (his response to the question “what kind of music do you play?”) on Earitation Records. Several songs from You Tell Me enjoyed extensive airplay including the Internet hit City & Me. In 2004 Dan formed and played keyboards for Wit’s End (named after the studio), an R&B & Bluesion powerhouse that rocked the N.C. Triad, including 2005 appearances at Alive After Five and Summer On Trade for the Winston-Salem Events Series. In the Winter of 2005/06 Dan turned his attention back to Saxophone and Guitar and began to perform and record with multi-talented Jim Tedder. This union led to the formation of Cityscapes, a Jazz/Pop duet featuring Dan on Guitar/Sax/Vocals and Jim on Piano and Vocals. Dan Shull now performs extensively, primarily on Saxophone, and has a number solo CD projects under way scheduled for release later this year. Dan has also recorded, arranged and produced a number of other acts since 2001.
