Lorena Prater was Nominated Female Vocalist Of The Year by the European CMA in 2001. A native of Atlanta, Georgia now currently resides in Kansas. She and her five-piece band Western Reunion have been touring the Midwest performing at fairs, festival, corporate function, casinos, private events and concert venues. They have opened for major acts such as Diamond Rio, Tracy Lawrence, Doug Stone, Dan Seals and many others. They are truly versatile and are best described as “Class Act”.It is difficult to categorize Lorena, as she is her own style. Her acoustic shows and country folk songs have been compared to the likes of Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt. Lorena's showmanship resembles Reba McEntyre, her high energy Shania Twain, and her big voice Judy Garland and Martina McBride. Lorena's stylistic range and soulful attitude caught the attention of record promoter, Frank Fara of Comstock Records. In August 1998 she released her first CD titled Dreamin'. The album was released both in Europe and in the USA on Comstock Records. According to Fara Lorena was one of the few “indie artist” to chart along with some of Nashville's top major recording artists - not an easy thing to do as a newcomer. The title song Topped at #1 on the Nashville Panel reports. Her remake of the Roy Orbison tune “Blue Bayou” hit the Top-20 list on the ECMA charts.June 2000 saw the release of Lorena's Nashville recording “The Real Deal”. The release hit the Top-40 most played albums on the European CMA charts, featuring the Top-20 hit single “Half Past Lonesome”. Lorena's latest Nashville release “What This Woman Wants” is a CD that highlights Lorena's cross over potential, both in style and ethnicity with a Spanish number included. Lorena was able to translate and re-record a Kim Richey original title “To Tell The Truth” the new Spanish version is titled “Di La Verdad”. This is a CD with exceptional songwriting and production. The songs written by Lorena such as “Workin Girl Blues”, “Little Sister”, “Upon My Knees” and “Along This Dusty Road”, have all been written from a woman's perspective. This is a great CD for the listener who enjoys a wide variety of music. If you are not a country music lover just take a listen anyway, you'll change your mind! The music is powerful, uplifting, and upbeat with a few tender moments that will strike an emotional cord. The CD was recorded at Performance Entertainment in Nashville, TN and produced by Michael Salacuse and Lorena Prater. This is one CD that every woman should have! | | Tom Wadsworth Skeleton Man CD (2004)
What This Woman Wants album
$9.49 Tom Throws's original songs are a journey through a struggle for personal acceptance. In his continuing battle against the self-esteem crushing 'Stage Fright Giant,' Wadsworth, who recently adopted the stage name Tom Throws, scored a decisive victory: he gave a concert with 5-string double bassist Stephen Orsini (the long, lost Orsini brother) at the venerable Saratoga Springs, New York coffeehouse, Caffe Lena and slew the 'Giant' with a dazzling array of songs from Skeleton Man as well as songs from his upcoming album, 'Tom Throws.' His much loved first CD, Skeleton Man, combining subtle insanity, emotional catharsis and social terror was largely ignored by the pay to play alternative music scene. Despite Mr. Throws insufficient promotion of Skeleton Man it continues to sell well in his home region of Upstate New York and in Northern New Mexico. Skeleton Man will soon go into its second printing. Tom's playing is inspired by the sounds ...
