| | Due North Follow Me CD Due North Discography of CDs
Due North is a unique contemporary Christian soft/rock duo.Oklahoma City's Due North originally formed in the fall of 1998 when local vocalist/lyricist Anna Jordan and guitarist/songwriter Brad Ford began writing together. Although each were in separate bands at the time, the musical chemistry between the pair was unmistakable and shortly thereafter lead to a full-time project. Due North spent most of 1999 working up a set of original, folk/pop compositions, which resulted in the release of a five-song self-titled EP in December of the same year. July 2001 saw the release of the duo's full-length debut, Follow Me. Follow Me was truly a labor of love, and the efforts shine forth through the innovative and melodic music. Follow Me features beautiful layered vocals by Anna Jordan and showcases the energetic and melodic guitar work of Brad Ford. All original songs, written and recorded by Ford & Jordan.Check out the sounclips - all roads lead Due North. | | Arms of Kismet Eponymous CD (2004)
Follow Me songs
$11.39 Eponymous is the debut CD from Arms of Kismet. Featuring ten slices of sincere irony, Eponymous drops echoes of Beck, Freedy Johnston, Bob Dylan, Aimee Mann, David Lowery and a gaggle of other great songwriters into a Waring blender... and reconstitutes them as something fresh and new. From fractured Americana ("Cuckold of Titan," "Sepia Eyes") to beatbox hip-pop ("Karma Never Forgets," "Beautiful Career," "Standby"), Arms of Kismet paints new and abandoned genres in shades bright, soft and psychedelic. From updated '60s melodicism ("Hang," "Foldback") to new-breed alternative rock ("Are You My God," "Alive and Awake," "Sail Seven"), Eponymous is a canny synthesis of styles, a neo-"singer-songwriter" album more adventurous than confessional.Written and produced by Mark Doyon (who released three CDs in the 1990s as Wampeters) and mastered by Jon Astley (Tori Amos, Jools Holland, Pete Townshend), Eponymous mines existential terrain. Blending traditional instrumentation with atmospherics, samples and blips, it considers what it's like to be born and not know why, what it's like to know death awaits but not the hour of its arrival. Pitching a tent between the camps of Americana, hip-hop and classic rock, it summons a warm, analog vibe that sounds as natural in a coffeehouse as it does on a car radio. It makes for toe-tapping, tragicomic rock 'n' roll.Doyon, who published a book of fiction, Bonneville Stories, in 2001, thinks of Eponymous like a collection of ...
| | Cadence Twenty Four One CD (2005)
Follow Me album
$16.39 A top a cappella group from Canada, the four singers in Cadence are versatile, very musical, technically skilled, and have a joyful group sound. On Twenty Four One, their music ranges from pop and rock to R&B and jazz with the songs including originals, pop songs, and a few more jazz-oriented pieces. The rich harmonies, heated scat singing, use of "body percussion," and willingness to take chances makes Cadence one of the most interesting a cappella groups currently on the scene. ~ Scott Yanow
TWENTY FOR ONECADENCE is Dylan Bell [tenor], Ross Lynde [tenor], Carl Berger [baritone] and Kevin Fox [bass]. The group enjoys working with both pop and jazz, and covers the gamut of a cappella techniques - Great harmonies, scat singing, vocal percussion, killer bass lines - you name it, it's all there. This CD includes a mixture of pop covers, original compositions, and jazz-flavoured material. When recreating pop classics the group maintains the essence of the original versions while adding their own stamp. You gotta love Dylan's Steve Gadd drum groove combined with Carl's Paul Simon-esque lead on "Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover" or the nod to Queen included ...

| | Kenneth J Stelly Choices CD (2005)
Follow Me music CDs
$13.89 Kenneth J. Stelly was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. His parents quickly realized they had a child prodigy on their hands, so they bought his first guitar at age 3. Kenneth also had an interest in the piano at a very early age. He was self-taught in these instruments as he enjoyed playing his favorite "Top 40s" tunes by ear. Throughout his early childhood, Kenneth would immerse himself for hours listening to records of various musical styles. These influences are evident in Ken’s eclectic style of playing and songwriting in later years. By the age of 12, Ken had a dream of having his own recording studio. Due to his limited resources at the time, he figured out how to make overdubbed recordings using two tape recorders and an acoustic guitar for all instrumentation. More than two decades later, Ken's dream became a reality when he founded Wonway Records.During the late 70's, Ken was a keyboardist for a local cover band named "Black Pearl". They were under the musical mentorship of the band members from the 70’s hit R&B group, "Rose Royce". Jam sessions with these seasoned professionals prepared the budding, local group for public appearances.By the turn of the 80’s, Ken enrolled himself in a classical guitar course at El Camino College at the advice of his mother who enjoyed hearing him play. She unexpectedly attended Ken’s first guitar recital before a live audience, beaming with delight at her son’s performance, when just evenings later, she died of a massive heart attack. The unexpected death of Ken’s mother spawned a wellspring of songwriting potential. Ken spent a lot of time songwriting with his guitar, which was therapeutic for him in coping with his mother's death and the death of his father, which occurred in 1979.Also occurring in the 80s, Ken led two Christian Rock bands who "rocked the house" at local churches and community events in the South Bay area. Ken also served as a Praise & Worship leader for ...
| | Jekkel Loser Geek CD (2002)
Follow Me songs
$12.69 / Jim: The fun loving, guitar flailing, stage jumping heart throb. Katie: The sexy but cute, crazy head and stick throwing drum marvel. Laramie: The HOTT and cool, laidback, ass kicking bass player. It all began as a quest to compete in the middle school talent show and ended up being a full-time passion. In the fall of 1998 Katie, who had been drumming since the womb joined forces with her newly guitar playing brother, Jim Cathcart. Realizing that two was simply not enough they picked up their childhood friend, a young chick guitarist with the greatest shared love for Green Day they had ever seen. Laramie Hancock, who was originally a second guitarist, quickly became the Mike Dirnt of the trio. Set forth by their mutual love of music the band was thus instilled into the lives of the three individuals.Since then, JeKKeL has recorded three independent CD's ("Losergeek" 2001, "Ping Pong Warriors" 2002, and "Tastes Like" 2004) and recently finished recording a new 5 Track Demo featuring what they consider to be their best material to date. While this is a great step for the band and shows much progress they are even more confident that the best is yet to come. In addition to time spent in the studio, JeKKeL ...
