info about "Just Fade Away": Japanese 'Otaku' culture is growing by leaps and bounds, and is becoming the next big movement to sweep American Culture. Anime and Video Games are more often becoming valid modes for artistic expression in the area of music. Composer/Producer G-Clef da Mad Komposa and his band Rayzd embark on perhaps the first serious interpretation of some of Otaku culture's best music, most notably Japanese composer Yoko Kanno (Cowboy Bebop/Escaflowne), as well as others. A Landmark project featuring many different instrumentations, even two Big Band tracks! RAYZD is the new name of a band formerly called G-Clef and da Houndz/Yalloppin' Hounds, and is the hip-hop/pop/jazz-oriented Phoenix that rose from the ashes of the Neo Swing Movement of the turn of the millennium! But trust us you never heard a band like this before.... They are 100% original, combining real musical skills with real rhymes, lyrics, and beats to form the most exciting new movement in music on this planet! Rayzd means many things to us: It means resurrection from the ashes... It means a resurgence of real melody and harmony combined with experimental pop.... It means its time to "rayz" the level now for the entire music world.... It means movement from darkness to light....travelling from west to east. The message behind Rayzd is based on values that are not necessarily of the material world. Concepts like love, aspiration to greatness, rejection of mediocrity, positive enhancement of human potential are among the messages they hope to leave their audiences with.
Rayzd: G-Clef (vocals, rap vocals, saxophone, keyboards, synthesizer, programming); Peter Hartmann (vocals, bass guitar); Jakineko, Alexa Cavaseno (vocals); Kabuki, Metatron (rap vocals); Brian "Lord" Sledge (trumpet); Joe Ashlar (keyboards, background vocals); Mowiekei (background vocals).

| | High Street Orchestra When Eggs Go Rotten CD (2005)
Just Fade Away
$7.99 "The faction of artists in hip-hop that realize "keeping it real" has nothing to do with your rim size is growing. Rap is an autobiographical art form, and High Street Orchestra MC Jeck seems to understand that all to well. After a stately piano intro (played by Jeck himself), "Opening Statements" gets the album going with horns and strings rebounding off the drum lick from Massive Attack's "Teardrop," as Jeck lays out his manifesto with a nimble delivery, astute wordplay and deft sense of humor. This contagious sense of serious Wackiness seems to be the main thrust of this record. Things may be dire, as when Jeck gets robbed in "Bad Luck" ("Have you ever been mugged by a bunch of fucking thugs thugs who just wanted you ass for money or drugs / And you couldn't identify them to the Colonial Pantry guy, your roommate or the police / Just because you can't see?"), but the MC's own blindness is a part of his story, not just a tool used to elicit a response. Another prime, although more lighthearted, example of this comes on "Beastmaster" ("Sex Machine! / My eyes are ...

| | Kenny Larkin Keys Strings Tambourines CD (2008)
Just Fade Away
$16.45 It\'s been a few years since Carl Craig\'s Detroit based independent label Planet E Communications has released an artist album. And Craig hasn\'t chosen just any album for his label\'s return to releasing full lengths. This is a very special record from his fellow Detroiter, former neighbor and long-term close friend Kenny Larkin, who also happens to be one of the most original producers to emerge from Detroit.Kenny Larkin\'s last album \"Funkfaker\" was released in France in 2004. Dropped under his Dark Comedy moniker it was much more of a deep exploration into a new kind of funk. It was a step away from his electronic roots, and a more experimental work when considered in the body of his musical work. “Keys, Strings, Tambourines” however goes back to where Larkin started - back to his days as a youngster going to The Shelter and Music Institute in Detroit. \"Inspiration for this album simply came from the love of electronic music\" says Kenny.What\'s clear is that the playfully titled “Keys, Strings, Tambourines” just also happens to be in the creators own words - \"my most dance floor oriented album to date.\" This makes great sense right now. In terms of electronic music we are at a crossroads where people feel the need either to go Pop or feed the dance floor. Larkin manages to do the latter with fine skill but in typical Larkin and Planet E style this is no ordinary simple dance floor album.Take the first single from the album, \"You Are.\" It\'s based in part on the phenomena of \"The Secret\" - Kenny\'s vocal here is something that wouldn\'t have been featured on earlier Larkin albums prior to \"Funkfaker.\" It\'s a track that sees him expanding beyond the dance floor into some kind of new ...
