Rated on Jambase.com as one of the hardest touring bands in 2007, Public Property kicked off 2008 with a tour to Hawaii and is now gearing up for spring, summer, and fall tours of the mainland US. Their much anticipated 4th studio album will be released later this year."Public Property has a sound that is full-tilt reggae even though they don't try to sing in fake patois and write original material that actually sounds original. Lots of syncopated rhythm breaks, bursts of pure groove and passionate musical interludes flesh out songs written by various band members . . ." – The Beat Magazine KRUI 89.7 college radio, Iowa City2005 top pic, University of Iowa:"Best local band."Little Village:"You're a chump if you don't check out this CD, but you're an idiot if you don't go see them live."The Gazette"Insanely catchy."River Stages"On the brink of a record deal."(first album)Little Village"Could save American reggae from the weedheads."Midwestbands.com"Powerful and sexy... a truly great reggae band." | | Peter Tosh Wanted Dread Or Alive CD (1981) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Public Property CD music
$8.85 Lou Marini, Jon Faddis, Lew Soloff (horns); Robbie Shakespeare (bass); Sly Dunbar (drums); Iziah "Stick" Thompson, Noel "Scully" Sims (percussion);
Not many singers can sing "I am wanted by the evil forces" without sounding paranoid, but with Peter Tosh, you believe it. By 1982, Peter Tosh had been brutalized by the Jamaican police more than once. His chief crime was speaking out against the forces of oppression in his native land. As the wanted poster on the cover indicates, WANTED DREAD OR ALIVE finds Peter Tosh in a typically combative mode.
The record begins with both guns blazing on the menacing "Coming in Hot." The mood lets up on the uncharacteristically schmaltzy "Nothing But Love," a duet with soul diva Gwen Guthrie, ...

| | Motives So Much More CD (2001)
Public Property CD music
$15.19 The Motives have been around in various configurations since 1998, and this is the band's debut CD release. Their three years of woodshedding and playing out have paid off handsomely: the Motives' sound is an impressively well-developed hybrid of reggae, ska, funk, and even country, characterized by intricate, flowing basslines, beautifully arranged horn charts, and better-than-average vocals. Interestingly, the guest artists on So Much More include banjo legends Tony Trischka and Bela Fleck. Trischka contributes tasteful pedal steel guitar on "Cat" (a minor-key ska tune which continues the feline theme that dominates the album's cover art), while Fleck plays nearly subliminal banjo on the similarly ska-flavored "Someone Else's Life" and both banjo and guitar on "A Friend in Need." Most of the album stays more in a mainstream reggae vein -- not old-school roots and culture reggae for the most part, but modern reggae with dancehall sheen and a rootsy foundation. Highlights include the excellent "Cowboy" and the even better "Bubblin' Pot," a dancehall workout featuring great interplay between singers Marcia Davis and Brian "Milo" Lowe. Highly recommended. ~ Rick Anderson

$15.19 The Gallery is the third release from the Venice trio, Devastating Karate. The new album displays the versatility of the band, with a consistent sense of humor. Devastating Karate kicks off The Gallery with psychedelic keyboards and Carl Sagen-esq narration, leading into the sci-fi themed “Crab Man,” before track two displays the band’s foot-stompin’ rockabilly style with “Mashed Potatoes.” Featuring an extensive guitar intro, the infectious “Don’t Spit It Out” is a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the metal-pop bands of the ‘80s, while the title-track switches gears to tell ...
| | Stelvio Cipriani Poliziotto Senza Paura/Sbirro La Tua Legge E' Lent CD (2008) (Import)
Public Property album
$30.19 Digitmovies is proud to present the sixth volume devoted to the Italian police movies genre releasing for the first time the complete and full stereo OST by Stelvio Cipriani from the movie "Poliziotto senza paura" (aka "Magnum cop") directed in 1977 by Stelvio Massi and starring Maurizio Merli, Joan Collins, Gastone Moschin, Annarita Grapputo. The movie tells the story of detective Spada (Merli), Roman private eye entrusted by his Vienna colleague Karl Koper (Moschin) to find the young Annelise Von Stradel (Grapputo), daughter of a rich Austrian banker, who in Rome joins a Buddhistic community. During the investigations, that bring the cop to discover a mysterious baby-prostitution racket, Spada meets the beautiful nightclub dancer Brigitte (Collins). With his unique style, Stelvio Cipriani accompanies the adventures of the fearless cop with alternative action themes and romantic motifs: Main Titles (Tr.1), peacefully introduced with synth and bell effects, develops a rhythmical motif with electric guitars and percussions reprised later in the Finale (Tr.22), disco music (Tr.3,Tr.17), Lounge style Bossa music (Tr.6), music for Brigitte's Striptease in the nightclub (Tr.13), chase music (Tr.11,Tr.20) and mysterious atmospheres (Tr.8,Tr.10,Tr.18). The sad and romantic side of the story is emphasized by intense strings passages that one more time reveal the melodic vein of the composer (Tr.2,Tr.12,Tr.15,Tr.16,Tr.19,Tr.21). As bonus tracks we release for the first time on record the complete OST in mono by Stelvio Cipriani from the movie "Sbirro,la tua legge lenta.la mia no!"
