"He said he had Eleven Eyes, but he lied, he only had one, and it opened full lotus when the music begun." -Monk Metz"Just made for my ears - think Headhunters meet Mahavishnu Orch (much of the playing bears comparison imho) with turntablism - turbo-fusion for the 21st Century..." -Boombastic Radio"Combining an array of influences including John Coltrane, Frank Zappa and DJ Logic, Eleven Eyes transforms a cornucopia of sound into infectious compositions that overwhelm the limitations of any single genre." -Josh Lintereur, Oregon Daily Emerald PulseScope is the second disc from Eugene, Oregon's Eleven Eyes. Since releasing their first disc, 2003's Depth Perception, the band has been playing steadily, traveling all over the Northwest, California, Idaho, Montana and Colorado. The material on Scope reflects all this experience, the grooves are deeper, the tunes are more diverse, and more chances are taken. The new material ranges from the experimental techno of "Tintinnabulation" and "Elevator Jazz" to the hip hop/drum 'n bass/avant big-band hybrid of "Full Lotus", one of two tunes featuring rapper Monk Metz, from the prog-fusion of "Capgun Slinger" to the New Orleans-style strut of "R Bop", from the Afrobeat-inspired "Rogue Convoy" to the Henry Mancini-meets-John Zorn spy jazz of "The Man From E.L.E.V.E.N." Oh, yeah, there's a tango in there too. Eleven Eyes is:Tim McLaughlin: trumpet, flugelhorn, euphonotron, FXMatt Calkins: tenor, soprano and bari saxes, FXMike Pardew: guitarDave Trenkel: bass, keyboards, electronicsSteve Weems: drums, drum programmingThe Turntable Enabler: turntables, samples, live effects processing, percussionWith additional eyes:Monk Metz: rap vocals on "Full Lotus" and "Building Skills"Ishi Woods: percussion on "Rogue Convoy" Eleven Eyes Scope Songs | 1. | Tintinnabulation |

Scope album
$15.19 Employing a variety of instruments that range from electronic drums and keyboards to bodhran, dumbek, and Tibetan bells, Michael D'Agostino's debut album, Future Reflections, is a multi-layered veneer of ethnic elements over a percussive framework that occasionally leans toward dance music, not unlike the sounds of Dead Can Dance or Deep Forest. D'Agostino manages to be a virtual one-man band on the recording, assisted by Jeff Thall on guitar (with Thall also sharing composer credits on two songs), but he also takes advantage of the skills that he has honed for years as a composer to create an album that shimmers with many different textures.D'Agostino also seems to have developed the steady hand and vision necessary to make music of this sort sound deep and resonant without being cluttered. Future Reflections is not an album that immediately grabs you and shocks you with its brilliance, but D'Agostino has an admirable debut album here, a recording that is pleasant and inspires introspection. ~ Stacia Proefrock
Michael D'Agostino began playing drums at age 7 after walking by a garage band playing in Uniondale, Long Island, New York. He started sitting in with local bands on Long Island by age 11 including the regionally known group "Cathedral". By age 12 he was teaching drums in his hometown. Michael earned eleven drumming medals between age 9 and 17 competing in the annual juried music competition for NYSSMA (New York School Solo Music Association). For four consecutive years Michael was also chosen to perform with the All State Orchestra at their yearly music performance featuring the best musicians from New York State. In high school he continued to perform in jazz trios, rock groups and pit orchestras and performed in the summer as a percussionist in the Long Island Opera on the Sound Company at the age of 17. As a teenager, he studied drumset, mallets, and tympani for seven years with Jack Snyder from the Les Brown group. He was a percussion major at the State University of Fredonia and The Crane School ...
