| | David LaMotte This Is My Song CD David LaMotte Discography of CDs
With nine CDs, fifteen road years and over eighteen hundred shows to his credit, LaMotte has written songs on almost every topic imaginable. Within that wide range of subject matter, though, there has always been a thread of conscience, calling us to consider our actions or lack thereof and inspiring us for the work we need to do.Though best known as a touring musician, LaMotte has also performed, keynoted and taught at numerous progressive events, including work with world-changers as prominent as Desmond Tutu, John Fife and Walter Wink. His peacemaking efforts have taken him from Bosnia to Belfast. He has developed and taught writing workshops for survivors of the Columbine school shootings as well as a retreat for pastors on the relationship between art, spirituality and politics. David has presented workshops on three continents for organizations as diverse as the Songwriters Association of Washington, the Guitar Association of New Zealand, homeless outreach centers, and the Research & Design department of a computer firm. He has also been a visiting lecturer at several colleges and universities. In the midst of his extensive touring schedule, LaMotte has made the time to launch a non-profit organization, PEG Partners, Inc. (www.pegpartners.org), which works to improve learning environments in Guatemalan schools. In 2005 PEG funded the creation of a computer lab for the children of Pachaj, Guatemala, and in early 2006 a new preschool opened in the town of Tzanchaj, built entirely with donations collected at LaMotte’s concerts, and named in his honor. This CD project release coincides with his appearance at a large anti-war rally in Berlin in March of 2006, and consists of a retrospective look at some of his topical songs on peace, justice and hope over the course of his career. It comes in a cardboard sleeve without extensive liner notes or a jewel box, and is therefore less expensive than a standard CD (and easier to transport to Europe!). Only a thousand of these have been manufactured, and they will probably not be reprinted, but will remain a collector’s item.Of the ten songs on the record, two are from David’s forthcoming release, Change, and the rest are songs that he has previously recorded on other CDs. Of those, three were re-recorded for this record with new production. The songs are mostly original, but the collection also includes a cover of the Police song Walking In Your Footsteps (written by Sting), Chuck Brodsky’s We Are Each Other’s Angels and A Song of Peace, by Sibelius/Stone.For more information about David’s other CDs, booking, etc., please check his web site at www.davidlamotte.com. This Is My Song album
$8.85 Richard Thompson's albums with Mitchell Froom in the producer's chair tended to be stylistically varied affairs, and on RUMOR AND SIGH, the singer's distinctive English vocal inflections and biting guitar spar inspiringly with Froom's kitchen-sink approach to production. Froom found intriguing ways to cope with Thompson's own wild stylistic approach, ranging from dark, narrative acoustic ballads ("1952 Vincent Black Lightning"), through radio-friendly, country-tinged rock ("Keep Your Distance," "You Dream Too Much"), to demonic rock & rollers ("I Feel So Good," "Mother ...

This Is My Song album
$17.09 First full-length CD: Never Been to Vegas (2006)In July 2006, Red Molly’s first full-length CD, Never Been to Vegas (2006), was released. Recorded on a December evening before a studio audience of fans and friends, Never Been to Vegas is a collection of fourteen carefully-chosen songs that span more than a century of great American songwriting. Never Been to Vegas quickly climbed into the Top 30 on the Radio & Records Americana chart, a rare accomplishment for an independent album. And listeners of WUMB radio Boston voted the CD one of the Top 10 CDs of 2006.On a July evening in 2004, at their campsite at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, Laurie MacAllister, Abbie Gardner and Carolann Solebello harmonized for the very first time. As they sang their campmates off to sleep, they knew they had stumbled into something extraordinary. Audiences seem to agree. Since that summer night, Red Molly has garnered a devoted regional fan base, and has begun laying the groundwork for national touring. These ladies have a lot of fun on stage, and it’s contagious. Red Molly consistently brings concert-goers to their feet with stunning three-part harmonies, crisp musicianship, and a warm, engaging stage presence. The magic of Red Molly stems partly from the richness and diversity of each member’s “pre-Molly” experiences. Laurie (vocals, guitar, banjo) left a career in psychology to pursue her love of singing. She worked for several years as a backup singer, and also released two solo albums, These Old Clothes (1999) and The Things I Choose To Do (2004). Abbie (vocals, Dobro, guitar) has a background in jazz, bluegrass, classical ...
