"3 in a Tree" is a group of Minnesota natives who share a passion for music that fits no category. The 3 piece rock and roll band mixes blues, rock, reggae, twang and funk, inventing a sound that is uniquely their own. Having been together for over 7 years, playing hundreds of shows around the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, they are back home and anxious to make an impression on the local music scene. Originally emerging from Mankato, the trio played extensively in Minneapolis and college towns of the Upper Midwest, sharing stages with accomplished local artists such as The Big Wu, The Jayhawks and Jonny Lang. Soon after finishing college, they decided to pack up and head south to seek greener pastures in the music rich Dallas area. After 3 years of gigging and recording in Texas, the guys decided to return home with a fresh start. Now poised to infuse their own version of rock and roll into the Minnesota scene, "3 in a Tree" has set out to express themselves with a new intensity. Dang album
$11.19 Often, supergroups wind up dominated by one particular personality - think Eric Clapton in Derek & the Dominos, Jack White in the Raconteurs -- which makes the egalitarianism of Them Crooked Vultures all the more remarkable. Of course, when it comes down to it, it's a group of three natural-born collaborators: John Paul Jones, the old studio pro who gravitated toward provocative partners after Led Zeppelin's demise, teaming up with R.E.M. as easily as he did with avant-queen Diamanda Galas and nu-folkster Sara Watkins; Dave Grohl, who hopped into an empty drummer's chair whenever the opportunity presented itself; and Josh Homme, who set up a mini-empire based entirely on jam sessions. If Them Crooked Vultures brings to mind Homme's projects more than Grohl's or Jones', it's largely due to his role as lead vocalist and how guitar can push a rhythm section as powerful as this to the side, dominating with its grinding riffs and solos. Homme's predilection for precision does reign supreme -- when the group stretches out, even wallowing in the murk ...
| | Rosanne Cash List CD (2009)
Dang CD music
$14.45 After the dark and chilling themes of 2006's BLACK CADILLAC, which saw Rosanne Cash dealing with the deaths of her mother, Vivian Liberto, her father, Johnny Cash, and her stepmother, June Carter Cash -- all of whom passed within a two-year span -- one might assume that her next project would move into an even deeper level of bleakness, but with THE LIST, it's immediately clear that she has instead found a more measured place to stand. It's a lovely and redemptive outing that looks back to go forward. When Cash turned 18, her father, alarmed that his daughter only knew the songs that were getting played on the radio, gave her a list of what he considered 100 essential American songs; Cash kept that list, and ...

$49.49 Recorded live at Madison Square Garden, New York, New York on November 27-28, 1969.
Returning to the American concert scene after a three-year layoff, the Rolling Stones recorded GET YER YA-YA'S OUT! during a triumphant two-date stand at Madison Square Garden in late November 1969 that found B.B. King and Ike & Tina Turner opening for them. Having amassed an impressive recorded output during their three years away from touring, the Stones peppered their sets with hits, including "Honky Tonk Women," "Jumpin' Jack Flash," and "Street Fighting Man." Tipping their collective hats to Chuck Berry, the band also included covers of "Carol" and "Little Queenie" alongside more blues-influenced ...

| | Libitina Closer Communion CD (2000) (Import)
Dang songs
$10.29 Reviews:"... one of the best goth rock albums of the decade..." (Dark Velvet, USA) "... it's very hard to believe that it's their first ever release. Recommended..." (BRV Magazine, UK) "Libitina's sound is a fast moving mix of synth and guitar-safely away from any cliches..." (Cherry, UK) "A must for every dark soul!" (Empyre, Belgium) Press release:Libitina unleashed their debut CD, "A Closer Communion", in February 1997 to coincide with a live appearance in Sheffield, supporting The Horatii at Epitaph. The CD was received with considerable acclaim, by press and public alike. Indeed, the album was voted joint best album of 1997 by the readers of uk.people.gothic. Produced by Stephen Singleton, one of the founder members of ABC, the album has been played in clubs and on radio shows throughout the world. The band takes its name from an ancient Roman goddess. Libitina was associated predominantly with darkness and the shades. In common with many early Roman divinities, however, she came to be confused with other goddesses; these were Proserpina (presiding over funeral rites) and Venus (the goddess of love and marriage). The lyrical themes of Libitina have been influenced strongly by this trinity of love, darkness, and death. The band's own material on 'A Closer Communion' is complemented by a take-off of Pulp's "Common People", entitled "Gothic People". Recorded with the permission of Jarvis Cocker and Island Records, this song has gained cult status in Goth clubs the world over. More reviews of "A Closer Communion" are reproduced below:Aether Sanctum 6, Australia. " ... they do the goth rock thing excellently and professionally. One listen to their 'A Closer Communion' debut CD will bear that out. It just oozes quality - equal parts Bauhaus, Danse Society early Sisters/ Rosetta/ Mission and a unique tangent all of their own. There's life in the UK scene yet - and Libitina are definite proof of that."BRV Magazine, UK:"... I was well impressed... ...
