$12.65 The early daysPaul Miro and Bart (AKA Paul Bartram) met in a rehearsal room in Leicester in 1994, both having been called upon to work on some songs for a guy neither of them knew very well. It quickly became apparent that Miro and Bart had much in common musically, so they quickly broke away from the poor guy who had inadvertently brought them together, and started working on their own project. After numerous auditions and various line-up and name changes, the band started playing gigs, which they financed by selling merchandise. It had not been their intention to pursue record deals, or, for that matter, even to employ management, but word of the band's sound began to spread and AP&S found themselves with a growing and loyal fanbase across the UK. AP&S first sprang to public attention in 1995. While still unsigned, rumours of the band's musical strengths reached Kerrang magazine and MTV, and the band suddenly found themselves garnering media attention without having signed a record deal. Hastily (rather too hastily, as they were soon to find out), AP&S signed to Music For Nations, and within eight weeks had released their first EP, Antiseptic, which was promoted via a hectic touring schedule. The band were hardly off the road for the next twelve months, touring Europe almost constantly, either supporting acts like Warrior Soul, The Wildhearts, Skid Row, Monster Magnet, or, as their profile continued growing, as a headline act. Another EP, Safety Net, was released in the summer of 95, in preparation for the launch of the band's debut album, Transfusion later in the year. You don't always get what you ask for...The critically acclaimed Transfusion topped the rock charts both in the UK and Europe, and, on the surface, it looked like AP&S were ready to start on the path to international success. But, behind the scenes, there were obvious problems: a miniscule ...

$16.45 Born in Inverness, Scotland, Steve began teaching himself guitar at the age of 6 after being influenced by the guitar sounds of Duane Eddy and The Shadows. At 18, he studied music at Napier College in Edinburgh and went on to win a place at the highly prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London studying Classical Guitar, Double-Bass & Composition and where in 1989, his guitar playing earned him the John Mundy prize for 'excellence in the playing of a stringed instrument'. He has worked with many of today's leading composers and has had many works written especially for him. After a successful London debut in 1992 (in which he performed Sequenza XI by Luciano Berio, Guitar Sonata by Sir Peter Maxwell Davis, Electric Counterpoint by Steve Reich and the world premiere of 2 Motets by Michael Finnissy), and numerous recitals around the world, Steve took a break from the 'classical' world and became involved with the 'theatre' world. After touring Europe in Oklahoma! during 1993/4 he returned to London and joined the cast of BUDDY. For the past several years Steve has been Musical Director for the London West End, UK Touring, Toronto and recent US touring productions of BUDDY and has appeared in all those productions in a number of roles including Buddy Holly! Steve has also appeared as John Lennon, Bobby Vee and Don Everly in Bill Kenwright's production of The Roy Orbison Story. In addition to guitar and bass, Steve plays a number of other instruments including banjo, mandolin, dobro, harmonica, drums & keyboards. He has worked in many different fields from Opera to Rock 'n' Roll appearing with a variety of artistes, including Eartha Kitt, The London Sinfonietta, Meatloaf, Music Theatre Wales and Britney Spears. TV credits include 'The Big Break,' 'National Lottery Show' and 'Whatever You Want'. Steve is also a busy as a composer of TV and film music having written for a number of companies in the US. Now residing in New Jersey, Steve is working on his next CD which will feature more of his solo acoustic guitar work and he is currently appearing in the hit Broadway musical 'Jersey Boys'. In 2000, The Royal Academy of Music honored Steve by making him an Associate of The Royal Academy (ARAM). Reviews for 'ZigZag':"Steve Gibb puts a refreshing slant on the term guitar virtuoso with his new release "Zig Zag." Showing incredible diversity with influences ranging from rock shredders like Satriani to gutsy pre-surf punkers like Link Wray and more classically trained pickers like Adrian Legg. His own style is definitely prominent as he melds the varied ...
