Jimmy Lee Hannaford is an Austin-based singer/songwriter whose roots stretch back to his native Mississippi, where he soaked up the sounds of Delta bluesmen as well as rhythm and blues, rock and roll, rockabilly, folk, country and soul. It was listening to artists such as Bob Dylan, John Prine, Paul Simon and Steve Forbert that first inspired him to write his own lyric-driven songs that touch on both personal and universal themes. A smooth, melodic vocalist and powerful performer on both guitar and harmonica, Jimmy Lee joined the busy Austin music scene in 1997 after a year in Santa Fe, N.M. Prior to that, he lived in Ocean Springs and Biloxi on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, performing with several blues-oriented bands, including an inspirational stint with blues artist Libby Rae Watson. Jimmy Lee performs regularly in and around Austin, Texas. Jimmy Lee Hannaford Outside In Songs | 1. | Southern Rain |

| | Kelly Pardekooper Haymaker Heart CD (2005)
Outside In album
$12.65 A year in the making, Haymaker Heart is the latest chapter in Kellyâs odd musical journey that has taken him from Iowa City to East Nashville. This near double album, distributed by Redeye, is his most ambitious work yet and a wonderful genre hop from the alt-country of his last two releases. Still plenty of roots on this 20 track opus, but some lush pop/rock goodies as well. An all-star cast of veteran musicians including Dave Moore and Teddy Morgan lend their talents to this new album produced by Kelly and John Svec at Minstrel Studio in Iowa City.âA moody alt-country original.â âNashville SceneâNot in Iowa suggests a sinuous atmospheric spaghetti-western shootout between Dire Straits and Calexico.â âNo DepressionâWhat makes Brand New Bag so consistently good is Pardekooperâs ability to show different sides of his craft without diminishing the songâs quality or shortchanging himself. 8/10 Stars!â âPopMattersâHaymaker Heart is a jaw-dropping album of hook-laden pop, folk-rock and raucous paint-strippers.â âIowa City Press CitizenâIowan Kelly Pardekooper sounds as if heâs channeling The Dandy Warhols on Brand New Bag, the retro-rock, groovy title track that sets the album off on the right course. 8/10 starts!â âPopMattersâMemo to Tim McGraw: Pardekooperâs âDraw the Lineâ is a hit just waiting to happen. And thereâs even a harmony part for Faith.â âNo DepressionâHaymaker Heart is not just the best album released in a 120 mile radius; itâs one of the best things Iâve heard all year. Iowa City native Pardekooper fares well compared to virtually any singer-songwriter out there.â âRiver Citiesâ ReaderâFolk This is a hilarious, name-dropping snipe at Alt-Country, No Depression-style posers.â âMusicEmissionsâForced to pick favorites for the year, âHouse of Mudâ is all grit and guts in the best possible sense!â âDes Moines RegisterâHaymaker Heart moves from Steve Earle to Beatles to Buzzcocks.â âRockzillaâThe title track on House of Mud is a slow-driven southern swamp blues that cuts through to the soul.â âMiles of MusicâHaymaker Heart goes good with beer, anger or sadness, and looks fine next to some other records you keep close by, just in caseâŠâ âMusicEmissionsâPardekooperâs art is true Americana. Americana enough to make good fun of the whole genre in âFolk Thisâ â a mocking yet catchy tribute to the ...
| | Patrick Napper Separation CD (2002)
Outside In CD music
$10.09 Patrick Napper is a dynamic, passionate, and soulful vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from the Pacific Northwest. Drawing upon a wide palette of influences ranging from pop, rock, soul and jazz, his music is sonically rich in texture and burns with intensity. Napper frequently pairs brutally honest and moving poetry with soaring, evocative melodies and lush arrangements. This lyrical intimacy has become one of Patrick's personal and professional hallmarks. His debut solo effort "Separation" and weekly live appearances have garnered him praise as one of the best male vocalists and songwriters in the Pacific Northwest. Patrick's strong vocal style has been likened to that of Aaron Lewis (Stain'd) and Scott Weiland (STP) as well as Roland Orzabal (Tears for Fears) and David Gahan (Depeche Mode). With a song craft often compared to artists such as Coldplay and U2, Napper finds his own voice through personal experiences ...
