III Kings is a musical venture that was organized by three artists that came together to create a new hybrid of music: a combination of world rhythms and roots reggae with a hip-hop influence. This rhythmic expression combines live acoustic guitars, surfacing bass lines, and worldly percussion, while delivering a message of unity and self worth. In 1999, III Kings met in Boston and began to blend their diverse music styles. Their musical influences and backgrounds hail from across the globe. Themes of West African, Caribbean music, and hip-hop can be heard. Through their music III Kings express their desire to create unique and positive messages that impact the world. Their combination of soulful and socially responsible lyrics creates a unique sound that can be felt by listeners of all walks of life. The III Kings consist of Michael Henry aka Khameleon (vocals), Benjamin Wright (bass), Joshua Melvin (vocals), Michael Hermans (guitar), Amadeu Tolentino aka Madu (vocals), Cannon Dwesse (drums), and Luis Blanco (percussion). Together, this ensemble of musicians continues to inspire other musicians, artists, poets and activists to express themselves by socially and consciously reflecting life. These are all of the qualities that Jaysun possesses as one of the new and upcoming hip-hop artists.Jaysun was born in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan. His father, a piano player, exposed Jaysun to many styles of music. From Cuban jazz to mainstream rock and roll, Jaysun was always accustomed to hearing different sounds from his father's stereo. Realizing his love for hip-hop music, Jaysun soon began to create his own song ideas from his own life experiences.He began his first solo project with 5x5 Productions out of Brooklyn, New York. Chapters is a compelling recording that is primarily soothing, focusing for moments on the pianist's technical abilities.
