His sometimes satirical and unashamedly heartfelt lyrics draw the picture of who he is and where he is going. Hailing from Chico, CA, Josh Funk started writing songs as soon as he figured out his first three chords and by the age of 15 was already winning city songwriting competitions against people twice his age. "I never thought through what I was doing when I was a kid. I just started writing songs and that's still what I do today. Now looking back on it, I feel blessed for my naivety, and wish I had more of it."By the time he was 17, Josh started to build a small following when he was given his own night at a coffee shop called the Daily Grind. "I played there for about five months, and in a way my songwriting grew up then. At first only a couple of friends showed up to watch me but by the end, the place was standing room only. This was soon followed by his first solo effort in 2000 with the release of “The Outlet Disadvantage” followed in 2004 by his 6 song EP “A Jukebox Envy.”One particular song “Supermodel” caught notice of L.A. producer Rob Beaton (Buckethead, Adam Cohen, Budapest Symphony Orchestra) who brought Josh down to track “So Glad You Could Make It” which would end up being released on the Swinghouse Records compilation of up and coming alternative artists to watch out for.2007 will see the release of his third album “The Face You Show Your Enemies.” With more production, songwriting experience, and exposure this time around Josh has honed his style with recognizable force. “My songs deal with everything between bliss and disaster...my life as I've known it so far." Jukebox Envy songs
$15.19 This is the second of three live albums we’ve cultivated from two separate shows recorded at Kelly’s Logan House in Wilmington, Delaware. Both were recorded at what would prove to be poignant times for the band, both as a whole and as individuals. The first show, recorded on September 10, 2005, came only a week or so after we had first discussed the possibility of us not touring any more. With the exception of a handful of people in our inner circle, no one knew of this. We all recognized that this was one of our last chances to get our unrecorded material on tape, and the songs have a real sense of urgency as a result. The second show, recorded November 5, 2005, came after we had announced the end of the band. We all knew there were only a limited number of shows left. The recorded versions of each song on this and the other two albums are exactly what we played on those two nights. The only editing done has been to master the recordings and place the songs in the order they appear on the albums. There are no overdubs on any of the songs. Any mistakes we made at the shows are there. I’d like to say that this is completely intentional, but that of course wouldn’t be true. The fact that the songs aren’t perfect really happened out of necessity as much as anything else. It is great though, in that it allows us to document what we sounded like live at the top of our game. The songs presented here really do capture how we sounded at the pinnacle of our abilities as a live act – and we always were a much better live band than we were anything ...

Jukebox Envy CD music
$14.79 Upon the release of his sixth album "The Ever Present Now", recording artist Nick Farr offers a colorful palette of original compositions that is sure to please his long-standing fans as well as new listeners. "The Ever Present Now" charted at # 1 for January 2009 and is receiving heavy airplay around the world. Tracks may be heard on Music Choice on the "Soundscapes" channel. “This album,” the artist says, “is a recording I have long wanted to make. It seems to have a really natural feel, and the wonderful musicians who contribute on the cd really put their hearts into it.” The pianist/composer has included twelve original songs on this record, which sample his unique writing styles and creativity. With much variety in both composition and style that tastefully blends the genres of new age, jazz, classical and contemporary instrumental, this is an engaging yet beautiful auditory experience. Nick’s fifth recording “Keep Moving” hit the airwaves strongly in the summer of 2004, debuting at #4 before moving into the #3 spot. A jazzier set, this recording shows Farr’s skills at composing more up-tempo tunes with more different instruments and far-ranging song writing. "Farther", Farr's fourth release debuted at # 3 on the New Age Voice Airwaves chart in October 2000 and moved up to the respectable # 1 position for November. It remained in the Top 40 for six months on Top 20 radio lists well into 2002. As well, "Farther" has been used in television as theme and background music-a setting that is well-suited for the composer's wide range of styles. "Fahrenheit", Nick's third release hit the NAV Top 100 for airplay in September 1999. "Old River, New Water", released in 1998, is a bolder and more percussive recording that shows more of the composer's unique writing styles. "Winterbourne", Farr's 1996 debut album, sets a serene stage around the piano. And with much the contemporary classical influence, the album fast became a favorite of lovers ...
