Damian AzrielFollowing in the footsteps of guitar wizards and songwriters Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Jack Johnson and Ben Harper, Damian’s highly infectious original music transports us to a place where time is standing still. It reminds us of the power that real live rock n' roll has to make you feel allright and knock your freakin' socks right off. Tune up your air guitars and get ready to jam with some heavy sonic sounds. Damian's influences include Blues, Jazz, Rock, Alternative and ???. Hailing from Vancouver BC, Damian has been featured on local radio stations CFOX, CFRO, and CITR and internationally on Englands’ Radio 2XS. Proficient on the bass, drums, harmonica, piano and guitar, he has been writing music, singing and playing in original bands since the age of 15. Damian has released several original recordings, the latest entitled "Girl Trouble" in 2005. He once auditioned to be the guitarist in the Red Hot Chili Peppers and was told that his playing ability was great, but he wasn't "punk rock enough." "I took my combat boots off when I was 16" says Damian. "That's Hollywood for you", he says with a laugh. An unrepentant Rock and Roller and self-taught musician/singer/songwriter, Damian placed second out of hundreds of guitarists at Labbat’s Guitar Warz at the now defunct Vancouver watering hole, Club Soda, and is currently performing and writing with his new band.Damians’ purpose with this CD is to give us a much needed respite from the pre-fabricated boy and girl bands that we have all heard way too much of, and most importantly, to make great, inspiring music that moves people. You will want to hear Damian’s wicked guitar wailing again and again. And you won’t even have to sell your soul.
