***new videos have been uploaded to YouTube as of 5/30/09. Please check out the YouTube link in the lower left hand corner to see two new pieces from my upcoming CD as well as The Journey and Kunderkine from this CD.The Journey is a collection of audio landscapes from my home state of New Mexico intermingled with exciting rhythmic pieces and hypnotic minimalistic playing. The CD will transport you on a musical journey, see what other have said about "The Journey."The Journey "employs intricate chordal and melodic fingerings...such as tapping, hammering, and open harmonics, reminiscent of acoustic guitarists Michael Hedges and Phil Keaggy. There are nods toward heavy metal guitar expressions as well." Farmington Daily Times"The music...has a precise flicker and flash...melodies that flow from quick pattering to quiet elegance. The titular 'The Journey' and 'Hymn of Remembrance' are particularly haunting." Arizona Daily Star"David Rose is one of those rare guitarists who are able to express emotion in music by combining a wonderful melody line, balance and structure. He is a master at creating a rich and vibrant atmosphere with pieces that are both intimate and contain top-notch techniques. In my view, David Rose is one of the top acoustic guitar players." Journey
$39.95 After releasing a collection of Snoop outtakes plus their "Re-Lit" version of Dr. Dre's The Chronic, the WIDEawake Entertainment group continued their unleashing of Death Row Records vault with their most ambitious project yet. The Ultimate Death Row Collection kicks off with a disc full of hits from the infamous West Coast label's heyday. With "Gin & Juice" (Snoop Dogg), "Nuthin' But a "G" Thang" (Dr. Dre), "I Ain't Mad at Cha" (2Pac), "Regulate" (Warren G.), and a slew of others, it's a whirlwind of vital G-Funk hits and West Coast classics that finishes on a high note, the fan favorite "Afro Puffs" (Lady of Rage). Disc two and three are where things get interesting, as a series of unreleased and rare tracks present an alternative-reality version of Death Row. From the LBC Crew's ominous "Six Shooter" to Soopafly's underappreciated party cut "This Type of Flow," the collection makes the Row seem much more active and diverse than most will remember. Add to that undiscovered gems like Kurupt throwing some beef Too Short's way ("Everybody Needs to Slow Down") Danny Boy delivering a prime G-Funk ballad ( "Rock, Roll, & Bounce"), and Petey Pablo in Death Row mode ("Spit Game"), and there's plenty here for West Coast fans to savor. One wishes the liner notes were beefier or that all the "Producer Unknown" credits were resolved, though, and putting classic tracks like 2Pac's "All Eyez on Me" amongst the rarities makes this collection seem confused. Still, these are minor complaints, and when ...

Journey
$15.15 Montana Skies creates a unique and refreshing new sound with the unusual paring of cello and fingerstyle guitar. Combining classic style with modern sensibility, the group draws on influences from ethnic and classical, to jazz and popular music. Like all true innovators, Montana Skies defies simple classification and continue to stretch the boundaries of contemporary instrumental music.Jonathan and Jennifer Adams are the originators of Montana Skies. The couple met almost a decade ago while studying music at the University of Georgia in Athens. At first the two planned on collaborating on classical music but after a trip to the University Library to investigate repertoire, they discovered that music written for cello/guitar was as rare as the combination itself. Jonathan and Jennifer were not discouraged; they began writing their own arrangements to classics and composing music for themselves. Not having set repertoire has given these music artists a great freedom in their musical expression. Jonathan explains, "Throughout the years,we have developed many of our own arrangements ranging from world music and classical to original compositions. The fact that 'ready made' repertoire is not available for our combination of instruments really what pushes us to be more creative with our music. In 2002, the duo released Montana Skies, a CD which juxtaposes recognizable melodies with the pair's own innovative and memorable compositions. Audience favorites from this CD are the catchy title track, the Duo's fun and foot-tapping version of the Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby", and the languid and peaceful "The Edge of Night". Jonathan and Jennifer officially adopted their name Montana Skies in 2003, after the release of their CD "Montana ...

| | Ryan Marvel Left Hand, Right Hand CD (2005)
Journey
$15.95 From "Left Hand, Right Hand" liner notes:I feel an obligation to pay homage to my hands. These are the tools with which I have worked for over thirty years now. I have no idea how the left and right sides of the brain send messages to the opposite hands to form a coherent musical phrase. How do they work together?I have sometimes likened my hands to two lovers. At given moments one may have a voice that is more dramatic, but the relationship would not survive without trust and compromise. I cannot explain how I play the piano. I truth, I don't think about anything when I play; I only understand what I feel when I do. Release. Respite. Completely myself. My classical roots show up on this album. These composers had the ability to use structure, yet maintain beauty, to give us the best of both musical worlds. I also love standards; "Summertime" is a piece that keeps evolving for me, sometimes taking unfamiliar form. The two ...
