| | Eve's Rib No Fences CD Eve's Rib Discography of CDs
This is a band you're not likely to ever see play. The songs are wrested from afternoons in Wake's basement in the North Carolina foothills. Wake is one of those young baby boomers who started playing guitar and collecting stringed instruments as a teenager moving coast-to-coast with his family. Sheridan (who was raised in a Southern charm school) is a living-room singer with a certain raw, vulnerability in her imperfect voice. What they ask of their music is honesty. No Fences music CDs
$14.49 Eek-A-Mouse sent the dancehalls raving in 1979 with his very first DJ single, the Joe Gibbs produced "Once a Virgin." The rodent linked up with Henry "Junjo" Lawes soon after, but surprisingly, Lawes was slow to release Eek's recordings, and so the mouse scurried off to work with Linval Thompson. Their first single together, 1980s "Modeling Queen," hit, as did "Bubble Up Your Hip," the latter titling Eek's Thompson-produced debut album which arrived before the year was out. Two years later, the U.S. Shanachie label released the set as Skidip!, a fast follow-up to Wa-Do-Dem which had hit American shelves that same year.
Confusingly, Shanachie retitled over half the ...
| | JAY WAYNE Dark Blue CD (2004)
No Fences songs
$10.15 Excerpt from Jay's Monarch Breeze memoirs regarding DARK BLUE:In 1989 I began recording my highest quality tracks to date at a place called Teluride Studios in Palo Alto, CA., utilizing the engineering expertise of one Eric Dodd (aka Eric Valentine of Smashmouth and Third Eye Blind producing fame). This project was to be side one of my first adult contemporary pop styled release. Of the 6 songs recorded: Like You Do, Blue On Blue, The Price, I'm Seeing Red (Target), Soul Mates, and Ain't It True, the first three found their way onto the CD Album DARK BLUE. In 1990 I made the decision to assemble my own recording studio, J-ZONE modeled after the techniques I studied under Eric's tutelage by example at Teluride. I hadn't realized it at the time, but by producing those first six tracks at Telurid I was actually learning many important procedures and studio tricks I would need for my own studio production work in the future. Eric's exclusive focus around 1990 to 1991 became his own group, called T-Ride, in which he played drums. This left less and less time for my studio project. I did not wish to switch to a different engineer and so I discontinued working at Teluride Studios. My logic going forward was to buy the equipment necessary to establish my own studio and continue alone. I invested in the equipment and took the plunge. Even if I had wanted to proceed at Teluride rates were going higher and higher. I figured that in time the cost of the equipment would eventually balance out and make sense within the greater equation. In the end I would ...

$14.79 What is a Bill Colgate? Poster boy for mid-life crisis or a somewhat late bloomer? Born in Welland Ontario and raised in Toronto, the arc of Bill's professional life begins in the early 70's, fronting such memorable bar bands as Uncle John's Dirty Secret and The All Star Disco Band (currently residing in the 9th Circle of Hell). It was while playing The Nickleodeon (Ronnie Hawkins' old 'Hawk's Nest') that things took a left turn when he was approached by the artistic director of a fledging theatre company with the proposal that he might consider giving acting a try 'since you seem to be handling the role oflead singer pretty well'. 20 years later, when he recorded his first CD, Bill had appeared in every aspect of the profession: stage, screen (BIG and small), radio, cartoon and commercialvoice work. He has performed the plays of Shakespeare, Beckett, Shaw and Ibsen but is most often recognized as The Singing Pirate from an episode of the children's show 'Join In' recorded 15 years ago.Bill has worked with the following names you may recognize: Tommy Lee Jones,John Cusack, Billy Bob Thornton, Diane Keaton, Diane Lane, Kiefer Sutherland, Liev Schreiber, Matt Dillon, Anthony Edwards, Tia Carrere, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Beau Bridges, Joe Mantegna, Sarah Polley, Kyra Sedgwick and Joanna Cassidy. While with a small theatre company in Mississauga, Ontario(Cyclos Theatre), the process of osmosis first affected Bill's artistic life. He discovered that all those years of singing in bar bands had given him an instinctive understanding of song structure. This came in especially handy as he was the only one in the company with any musical background and someone was needed to write original songs for their children's shows. Thus began Bill's education in songwriting. It proved to be an excellent training ground. The lyrics had to convey information and 'further the plot' while the melody had to engage thenotoriously fickle pre-pubescent audience. It was an apprenticeship that's advantages far outweighed the one disadvantage of having to 'unlearn' a certain didacticism inherentin children's music as he later struggled to find his own 'voice'This struggle began during an hour long walk Bill would take every summer day from the hamlet of Port Ryerse to the town of Port Dover (where he was appearing at TheLighthouse Festival Theatre) along The Radical Road. It had been several ...
