The BiggerBetterFasterMore StoryCleverly disguised as a humble Baltimore bar band, for five years BBFM has been slyly showing audiences that something can be unusual and still good. Picture if you will a stage with a bright yellow drum kit set up right where most bands would put their lead singer, now picture a drummer (roughly the size of your average linebacker) towering over this drum kit singing, sweating, cussing and working the crowd like a cross between a maniac evangelist and stand up comic. Now add to that picture a guitarist with incredible tones, unequaled taste and jaw-dropping technical ability; a Berklee College of Music educated sax player with a rich, dark, jazz influenced sound who also plays guitar and keys and a bass player that somehow manages to follow the drummer no matter what direction he takes in the name of entertainment and that gives you and idea what this group is all about.Their original music is unashamedly emotional, melodic and quirky. Good song writing is the number one priority (that's why it's taken so long for these guys to release original music) and they feel that they have finally found their voice as a recording act, so they have decided to test the waters with their 6 song debut release "THE TRADESMAN'S ENTRANCE". If you like modern pop/rock that dares not to be bland, if you like a band with a unique perspective and a healthy sense of humor, if you like pudding, you will like BiggerBetterFasterMore. Tradesman's Entrance
$8.78 Melanie Fiona's debut single, "Give It to Me Right," was a perfect 2009 pop-R&B recording. The single coupled a timeless classic (the Zombies' "Time of the Season") with roof-raising vocals and infectious pop hooks that stuck like peanut butter. Fiona's single was perfect, albeit a touch formulaic. Because of this, it's no surprise that a large chunk of her debut album, THE BRIDGE, is much of the same. Like any good 2009 pop-soul recording, the album offers influences from decades of soul music. Fiona, a Kanye West protégé, collaborates with about as many styles of music as she has producers and writers, who include most prominently Canadian R&B singer-songwriter Andrea Martin, Rob Fusari, ...

$11.18 Although Steve Vai and Joe Satriani get the lion's share of the credit for popularizing "instrumental guitar-driven rock" for metalheads in the late '80s, another gentleman was merrily shredding on the six-string around this same era (and issuing all-instrumental recordings, as well) -- Steve Morse. And despite a full-time gig as Ritchie Blackmore's replacement in Deep Purple since 1994, Morse has managed to find the time along the way to reunite with ...

$6.69 THE GBOT STORYby: Dre ChahineIn the winter of 2003, Gareth Fewel (aka GBOT) embarked on a journey that few have the balls to take. The story of a Cruise Ship Musician is a noble one: sacrificing one's love of dry land to entertain thousands of tan-hungry tourists. Over the next three years, Gareth would be rewarded, enlightened, and sunburned by his adventures in 5 continents and over 40 countries. The contrast of witnessing real culture (World) and witnessing non-culture (Cruise Ship), provided for a surreal experience. GBOT needed an outlet and seeing the Earth in its truest and most revealing forms can only inspire...During a 3 month "shore leave", GBOT began writing songs mainly for therapeutic purposes. As one would expect, musical entertainment on cruise-ships is inconsistent and generally cheesy as hell. It is also predictable, watered-down for the masses, and repetitive; these would be the characteristics that Gareth vowed to avoid. Trained as a jazz bassist at Depaul University, Gareth is also proficient playing keyboards and his compositions reflect his love and understanding of all musical genres. When it came time for some "meat" on the proverbial "skeleton" of his music, Gareth contacted guitarist Dylan Jones. Dylan has been knee-deep in the Chicago music scene for 3 years, lending his talents to a large list of groups including the South-side jazz-soul stylings of ZZaje and the "I-can't-beleve-it's-not-U2" tribute band Elevation. After Dylanizing the tracks, it was made clear that the music would need a tasteful yet technical drummer. They turned to Kris Myers, the virtuosic drummer from constantly touring jamband juggernaut Umphrey's Mcgee. Gareth and Dylan could not have made a better choice and were seen smiling and patting each other's back throughout Kris' studio session. The sparks flew and ignited GBOT's Body Rocket.Body Rocket accomplishes what most albums claim to aspire to: achieve uniqueness through a multitude of influences and genres. The album's success is due to a continuity in diversity while maintaining a sustained vision and sound. Drawing from the well of contemporary music, Body Rocket exhibits influences from Indie-Art-Prog Rock, Pop, Jazz, and R&B Soul. Listeners have approximated the music to Radiohead, ...
