When Shahrzad came onto the music scene in 1997, she quickly proved herself as a passionate and serious artist. In 2000, with her debut solo album "Our Story" and the release of her videos such as "Mirdamad", she further impressed audiences and critics alike and established herself as a visionary singer possessing a tender vocal style and a range of emotions that are expressed unpretentiously in her songs and videos. Her second solo ablum "1001 Nights" was released in 2003 to the delight of her fans.As a child, Shahrzad loved to sing and act for friends and family and when alone, performed in front of a mirror or in her backyard for an imaginary audience. Early on, through her mother and father, who are artists, Shahrzad was exposed to a wide variety of music, films, plays and books. Bolstered by those influences, Shahrzad began gravitating towards pop and world music and formed a well-rounded and eclectic musical taste while at the same time taking part in small theatrical and musical productions at her school and community events.A native of Iran and having moved to Europe and then to America as a teenager, Shahrzad possesses a great amount of love and respect for different cultures, people and art. Her life experiences have exposed her to new musical influences and sounds which she uses for her music. Shahrzad Sepanlou Our Story Songs | 1. | Our Story |

Our Story
$12.89 This Los Angeles-based band features a Cambodian vocalist (she sings in both English and Khmer) and takes as its primary inspiration the Cambodian rock of the 1960s. As there isn't exactly an overload of bands playing retro-psychedelic Cambodian rock in America in the 2000s, Dengue Fever stands out, and especially so with their beautifully realized second album, VENUS ON EARTH.
Dengue Fever's music is a heady cocktail of reverb-laden guitar, Farfisa organ, horns, and shuffling rhythms that channels jazz, lounge music, Southeast Asian pop, and spy movie music. "Woman in ...

Our Story
$14.79 It's not very comfortable to sit and write about yourself, but here goes. As a youngster I use to sit in frontof an old radio that was almost as big and looked like a Juke Box. I couldn't wait for the time for the "AlJolson Show" to come on. Even today after hearing so many wonderful voices I still think I like his the best. Now then, I've gone and pretty much told you how old I am. Don't let that stand in your way ofhearing what I think is some not too shabby music. I first performed when I was five years old. I wrotemy first song in 1959. Through the years I've always stayed close to my music, but not until in the late '70s did I get back into the swing of things. I was introduced to the music of Jimmy Buffet and instantlywas hooked. Mostly by his harmonica player, Fingers Taylor. There are many great harmomica playersout there today, but his style is the most intriguing. Not cutting Buffet short, his writing and singing is init's own league. But that's how it started. I moved from South Carolina to the "Red Neck Riviera", GulfShores, Alabama in 1979 and played music for three years at a club called the "Florabama". If you'venever been there, put it at the top of your list of things to do. I won't go into detail. It's located right on theGulf of Mexico front beach, and sits right on top of the Florida/Alabama state lines. It's there in Alabamathat I started writing again and haven't stopped. I've played in more bands than I can remember, did a single acoustic act for years, and my wife and I have done an acoustic duo for the past 20 years.I'm retired now after over 45 hard years of work. I don't go fishing. I don't play golf. All I do is make music with my friends. What a wonderful way to close it out. And it's amazing how music connects! My friendsrange in age from 20 to 75. I'm not the "75"!! Yet!. ...
