| | Blue Bambooza CD Blue Bambooza Discography of CDs
In the winter of 2001, a group of guys came together in search of a new musical experience. They had the same goal in mind, doing something challenging, fresh and unclaimed to the area. The music scene in the surrounding area, seemed to be missing something. There was no young bluegrass to be seen and that is where Blue Bambooza picked up the slack. Composing original material, arranging pieces from the likes of Tony Rice, Chesapeake, David Grisman and revamping some of the old traditionals, they brought on a new sound virtually unheard from a triad based band. Completely acoustic, sort of... OK, it's hard to be completely acoustic when you have drums. So let's back up, all acoustic instruments along with the help of state of the art acoustic amplification and lighting/video allow Blue Bambooza to put on a show not soon forgotten. | | Sugarland Gold & Green CD (2009)
Blue Bambooza CD music
$12.35 Georgia's Sugarland rose to great heights in 2009 - their 2008 album LOVE ON THE INSIDE reached platinum status, they recorded a prime-time network television special called LIVE ON THE INSIDE, which was then released in numerous packages that all sold well, and the group has sold out live shows globally. Therefore it seems to make sense for the group to release yet another stop-gap before the year ...
| | Darius Rucker Learn To Live CD (2008)
Blue Bambooza music CDs
$10.29 Although for the rest of his life, underinformed fans of 1990s pop will forever be calling Darius Rucker "Hootie," the former Hootie & the Blowfish singer-songwriter makes his solo debut with a perfectly credible take on mainstream contemporary Nashville country. The laid-back, largely acoustic folk-pop of Hootie & the Blowfish was never that far removed from contemporary country in the first place, so only the fact that Rucker is the first major African-American country star since the heyday of Charley Pride makes the stylistic crossover out of the ...

| | Clinton Gregory Freeborn Man CD (1991)
Blue Bambooza music CDs
$17.75 Gregory kicks a bit harder, as displayed on the hit "Play Ruby Play," but he still leans more on honky tonk than country-rock. ~ Michael McCall
Born in Martinville, Virginia, Clinton Gregory came from a long line of fiddle players. He picked up the fiddle at five years old, making his performing debut at bluegrass festivals within a year. He came to Nashville at age 12, where his father was playing at the Grand Ole Opry. Encouraged by his greatest influence in his life, his father, Willie Gregory, a fourth generation fiddle player who died in 1992, Gregory says of his father, 'He taught me to learn fiddle tunes as close to the way they were originally written, some 200 years ago. My father was my greatest influence.'Throughout his youth, Clinton found little else but the fiddle kept him on the straight and narrow. The last time Clinton and his dad appeared together was an appearance on the Grand Ole Opry. 'Now that's a memory that'll ...

Toni has traveled in Europe, Jamaica and the U.K. playing in clubs and festivals as well as conducting vocal improvisation workshops. In this, her third CD, Toni offers a combination of contemporary, straight-ahead, and instrumental.**********************The reviews are starting to come in . . .CHRIS SPECTOR - MID WEST RECORD RECAPJannotta takes almost everything into her own hands and wears the responsibility better than some others in the national spotlight recently. At least she doesn't remind you of your first ex-wife. Writing, producing and playing, Jannotta crafts an original, new jazz work that doesn't exactly find her sliding into easy pigeon holes as she keeps things moving forward and interesting. Taking a different tack for a contemporary jazz singer, Jannotta is on point with this relaxed date throughout. It's not often that an original work that flies in from under the radar has so much on the ball so succinctly. Simply put, this set sounds as good as she looks in a slip dress (check out the back cover). _AerieDOUG BOYNTON, GIRL SINGERS'Ambassador of Possibility.' That's what the publicity handout says about Toni Jannotta, a west-coast performer. This is her fourth disc, which she co-produced with pianist Greg Gordon Smith, who also arranged the material. It's a mix of ballads and vocalese - eight of the twelve tracks are originals, written by Ms. Jannotta.Ms. Jannotta's voice is something of beauty - whether powering through intricate vocalese - or gently caressing a ballad. Range and power from zero-to-infinity in nothing flat.My favorites include the tracks I'm most familiar with. Saxaphonist Scheila Gonzalez backs a very cool rendition of the Brubeck classic, 'Take Five,' and You've probably never heard Madonna's 'Borderline' as a ballad. But there are originals of note - the City of Ventura, California pitched in with an arts grant, and Ms. Jannotta and the band pay tribute with a nicely swinging song titled, simply, 'Ventura.'And the disc ends with an instrumental penned and performed by Ms. Jannotta titled, 'Ruthie's Themes.'The originals will grow on me - as I listen more. And I will be listening more!oh my, yes.Highly recommended.Three stars (out of four)JOHN BOOK, THE RUN OFF GROOVE#216I listened to this jazz singer who carries herself with the kind of grace that, as someone who can shun vocal jazz in an instant. She goes at it smoothly and she sounds silky fresh. This is her third album, it's pure uncut Jannotta. The musicians who back her on this, including saxophonist Scheila Gonzalez (known for her work with DIVA and recently was part of Zappa Plays Zappa), bassist Pabl Motta, drummer Chris Wabich, and pianist Greg Gordon Smith, and even though ...
