Acoustic Folk/Rock with attitude, and lyrics wrapped in a smooth voice that hits two and three part harmonies with ease. Andy Moore received her first acoustic guitar at the age of 10. Soon she took her formal vocal training and discovered folk/rock music. Infected by the sound, she swiftly began playing solo gigs at coffee houses and opening for folk favorites while still in high school. Since the debut of her first album, Shifting, in 2001, Andy has continued to entertain packed venues along the East Coast as well as other venues scattered across the country. When Andy is not penning or performing music, the Texas native attends Harvard Divinity School. Andy currently headlines the competitive nightly show scene in Provincetown, MA. Since leaving Texas and following the her heart in the music, Andy has shared the stage with such indie greats as Melissa Ferrick, Dan Bern, Beth Hart, Jess Klein, Edie Carey, Adrianne, and Bet Williams. Andy's latest work, titled Dig Right In, is laced with emotionally engaging vocals, intense lyrical depth and her signature smooth acoustic guitar. Packed with a dozen fresh new tracks, Andy's self-proclaimed musical influences such as Shawn Colvin and the Indigo Girls shine through brilliantly. Arguably the last great Crosby Stills and Nash album, CSN was recorded before drugs and interpersonal squabbles wreaked irreparable damage to the group. This creative swan song is probably the trio's darkest, most introspective record, full of soul-searching ballads that detail ...

| | Judy Krueger After All CD (2003)
Dig Right In CD music
$14.79 The first thing that gets you is the voice--seemingly effortless, melodic lines and so easy to listen to. With her uncomplicated acoustic guitar arrangements and long hair, this is obviously a folksinger. Then come the stories--song by song she tells of people and events, weaving the everyday into the universal. Judy's delivery of a song creates a direct, emotional connection with the listener.Judy Krueger grew up in Princeton, N.J., spent her young adult years in Ann Arbor, MI. , moving to Los Angeles in 1991. She learned to read music at the same time as she learned to read, thanks to her music-teacher Mom. Throughout her school years she studied piano and violin, sang in any choir she could get into and devoured books. She won her first songwriting contest in the 4th grade and her first short-story contest in 7th grade. In her late teens she discovered folk music and took up the acoustic guitar. "I love a good song more than anything. The challenge of condensing a story and a viewpoint into a few verses and a chorus is like a good game to me," she says. After a decade of making a living as bandleader and lead singer on the TOP 40 cover band circuit in Michigan (and raising her two sons on her earnings), Judy arrived in Los Angeles just as the coffeehouse scene and singer/songwriter genre were having a rebirth. In June, 1996 she released a self-produced 6 song cassette EP, Simple Songs For A Complex Age. Joe Seta, creator of the Artist Underground internet site called it "an intensely personal listening experience."Her first full-length CD, After ...
| | Dalloways Penalty Crusade CD (2004)
Dig Right In music CDs
$7.49 The Dalloways? California Dreampop at its finest. Think The Smiths meets Belle and Sebastian meets The Doves, and you're halfway to understanding these sometimes moody, often upbeat dreamers.Fans of Coldplay, Travis, New Order, Belle and Sebastian, Kings of Convenience, The Red Housepainters, The Smiths, The Divine Comedy, The Doves, and Grandaddy among others, will appreciate Dalloways music. Penalty Crusade has consistently ranked at the top of the CD Baby editor's picks for California Pop and Brit Pop. Track to track, the listener moves through powerfully quiet moments like "Elected to Tell You" and the title track, to silky smooth, synth-laden tunes like "Cotty's House" (reminiscent of Flaming Lips), and finally to big crescendo flashes of pretty distortions and delays like "Marriage Arranged" and "Clarissa, Dear."Here's what critics have to say:"Like a casually gorgeous waitress serving Sunday afternoon coffee, The Dalloways serve up pretty California dream-pop delicacies on Penalty Crusade." - Billy Gil, Splendid"[The Dalloways] reach for Brit Pop and manage to find the sweet ether where California coolness ends and the emotional reverb of '80s British rockers begins." - Danielle Belton, Spin Zone Music Reviews"The musical arrangements are rich and are so beautifully put together that I hear something new every time I listen. I highly recommend this album." - Jesse Rivera, Planet of Sound"Gerhard Enns' ability to talk about relationships in a song like he's talking about your own horrid pitfalls is purely magical." - N. L. Belardes, Skeleton Head Reviews"With top British influences such as The Smiths and Prefab Sprout, The Dalloways have definitely managed to create a style that includes both an atmospheric collage of musical elements and great songwriting." - Raina LeGaretta, Souls and SoundsThe Dalloways are storytellers, and underlying the beauty of the sound are strong narratives full of characters attempting to find their own ways for themselves: a down-and-out Olympic figure skater seeking lost love; a brother running from family and friends and making his own way in New York; lovers on the Metro feeling the separateness of their fractured relationship. Each song carries a tenderness and pain tempered with the ...
| | Erin O'Hara Indestructible Joy CD (2001)
Dig Right In songs
$15.19 Billboard Magazine wrote of Erin's work, "intelligent...a striking first impression...a much needed breath of fresh air in a field of pop sameness." "Indestructible Joy," Erin O'Hara's first solo record, is an intimate collection of ten starkly recorded songs, a sonic hybrid of folk simplicity and rock energy. Musicmisfits wrote: "This album is a tribute to love more than anything else... I cannot overemphasize how much you need this album. It's a record that will get you out of a funk, despite your best attempts to remain in one." Erin O'Hara's musical career began as lead singer with the Albany-based ...

Dig Right In songs
$15.19 'The world needs more songs like this." - Americana-UK "She's an electric indie rocker - not your usual weepy acoustic chick - with a nicely unpretentious, assured voice like an urban version of the Walkabouts' Carla Torgerson. She has an uncommonly good sense of melody, likes minor keys and reverb... Impatience, anger and frustration find their way into her smartly crafted, mid-80s style lo-fi songs. Catch her on the way up.' - lucidculture Elisa Flynn's songs are like birds' nests--woven through with interesting and shiny bits. She collects situations and images the way other people might collect things, and then she turns them into songs that have sonic range and depth. Her voice is a big and wholly original soprano soaring over plaintive picking and vigorous strumming. In her lyrics, her dark sense of humor comes through in the story that makes up each song. In articulating the thoughts of a care-free serial killer, or conveying the secret terror of a woman in the Donner Party, or the thoughts of black birds flying towards the heavens, she shows her gift ...
