| | Isaac Hayes Shaft (Deluxe Edition) CD (1971) Bonus Track; Remastered; Deluxe Edition
Signs Of Love CD music
$9.75 Despite its codification into our collective pop culture consciousness, Isaac Hayes' "Theme From Shaft" is a highly original composition. It's been remade by Hayes himself for the remade Shaft film, and appropriately kicks off this collection of tunes from the movie by some of R&B's New Jacks.
A diverse selection of artists encompass the collection, from lascivious soul stirrer R. Kelly to the rugged Latin hip-hop of Fulanito, along with many other noteworthy diversions that represent the many flavors of contemporary urban soul. Most of the material focuses on John Shaft's street smarts and bravado, or the film's pimps, hoes, and gangsta imagery. As expected, Southern ...

Signs Of Love songs
$12.79 PITCHFORK"Invoking the moody textures of old 4AD bands like Cocteau Twins. On last year's To Where You Are, the High Violets approached such pastimes from the vantage of a guitar band, helped by frontwoman Kaitlyn Ni Donovan's ethereal vocals, which at times recall the Sundays."PM MEDIA REVIEW"The High Violets seem poised to make indie/pop crossover history... With two well-crafted releases behind them, and the positive buzz growing around them, The High Violets could find themselves on many playlists in the coming year."MAGNET MAGAZINE"Kaitlyn ni Donavan has a voice that would melt the Jesus And Mary Chain's heart, and ballad 'Invitation' proves the Violets are capable of writing a great tune."GRAVE CONCERNS"To Where You Are is an exceptionally solid affair, an album that's consistently great from start to finish. With both accessibility and depth, it's an immaculately produced and energetic-yet-emotive outing that's likely to draw quite a bit of attention, and deservedly so. Highly recommended."WILLAMETTE WEEK"To Where You Are, an album ...

| | Marco Castillo Brazilian Season CD (2008)
Signs Of Love music CDs
$18.25 Brazilian-turned-Winnipegger Marco Castillo, who moved from sunny Rio de Janeiro two years ago, is very excited about his new debut CD, "Brazilian Season", which was launched on May 8 and the CBC recorded it at West End Cultural Centre.Billed as the "first original Brazilian CD recorded in Winnipeg," Brazilian Season got four stars from Michael Wolch on the CD Review and is only a small taste of the vast and varied musical culture in Brazil. This project features fifteen of Winnipeg's finest musicians, performing 10 original tracks that cover samba, bossa nova, bolero and chorinho.1 . Tao Zen (5:11) – The value of meditation is purpose of this song. The guitar chords float through the rich rhythmic session on this original Brazilian Samba Groove. The unique sound of the cuica gives a very interesting contrast.2 . Vicio (4:29) – Funk and Soul make part of this danceable song with a great sax solo by Paul Metcalfe.3 . Brazilian Season (5:11) – An upbeat instrumental samba makes one travel throughout different seasons by beautiful voice melodies.4 . Pega Leve (4:03) – Soul Music has influenced Marco Castillo on this soft funk-ballade, embellished and refined by the keyboard notes of Michelle Gregoire.5 . Puxando Fogo (3:10) – The chorinho was created around 1870 by blending European music such as Polka and Waltz with Afro-Brazilian rhythms. This song is a very tasteful example of this style. It comes with an awesome interpretation of Marco Castillo and Eli Herscowich.6 . Sor Ryo (3:41) – Rio de Janeiro, where the Bossa Nova was born, keep inspiring many artists around the Globe and it wasn’t different with Marco Castillo. The sensibility of Ken Gold saxophone brings back ...
