| | Valerie Borman It's Good To Be Loved CD Valerie Borman Discography of CDs
Valerie is the quintessential, all-american, country girl. Born in Allentown, PA, popularized by Billy Joel's song, Valerie grew up on a farm in rural southeastern PA. Her childhood dream of being a singer was finally realized while attending Penn State University. After a semester of playing banjo with State College's famous Phyrst Phamly, Valerie entered the pop market, joining a Lehigh Valley PA band called The Starlites. The top-40/variety group proved to be the perfect training ground for Valerie's 3+ octaves. Covering artists such as Aretha Franklin, Christina Aguilear and Celine Dion, and singing styles from rock to R&B, Valerie developed a multi-dimensional, deeply textured voice that knows no limits in range or style. And working a schedule of five and six, four-hour performances per week, Valerie's voice has also developed unmatched endurance. Combining her amazing talent and energy - Valerie takes country entertainment to a whole new level. As a recording artist, Valerie has been equally successful. "Now Is So Beautiful" from her Sweeney Sessions release (named for songwriter Tom Sweeney) debuted on WZZO's Backyard Bands program in April of 2001. By November, the track had risen to the #10 position on mp3.com's Rock Charts. Peaking at #7 on the Download Chart, Valerie's "Now" was challenging (and surpassing) major artists such as Alanis Morissette. With her success apparent, Century Music Group in Nashville approached Valerie with a recording opportunity that culminated in the CD, "It's Good To Be Loved." The universal appeal of this feel-good recording and its relationship related themes has generated world-wide requests (1600+ per month) on mp3's truSonic playlist, with international fanmail arriving daily. On August 14, 2003, Valerie's single 'Big Trouble' beat out the Dixie Chicks for the #10 position on mp3's New Country Chart!! In November 2003, Valerie's CD bested Billy Ray Cyrus for the "Album of the Month" in Power Source Magazine!!As Valerie continues to perform more than 250 shows per year, her future as a live performer and recording artist is undoubtedly very bright. It's Good To Be Loved music CDs
$16.45 Born 1941 in Walla Walla Washington (one of the closest hospitals,) and raised with six brothers in Athena Oregon (18 miles north of Pendleton,) the son of a preacher man, Daniel Moore, went to college in Eugene for 3 years, then moved to Los Angeles to do music (1962.) Within two weeks he had a record deal, a lousy one (wrote his first song for it.) The year of 1963 was spent playing acoustic bass and singing backup with Jimmy Rogers, another northwesterner; and opening for him as a member of the Fairmount Singers. In 1965 he began producing records and publishing songs. In 1967 The Everly Brothers recorded Daniel's song, "Deliver Me".1970 he joined Joe Cocker's, Mad Dogs and Enlishmen group and went on tour. Did an album for ABC Records as an artist, produced a bunch of records and began writing in earnest. In 1973 his composition, "Shambala" became a million+ seller ...

| | Doug Jayne It Looks Like She's Going On A Trip CD (2003)
It's Good To Be Loved CD music
$11.39 Singer/songwriter Doug Jayne has fronted the mildly-popular Northern California bands, Stupid White People and Loser friendly. It Looks Like She's Going On A Trip" is Doug's solo CD debut: 12 songs (11 originals) featuring a stellar musical line-up including Blues Legend Charlie Musselwhite, singers Gail Muldrow & Jackie Payne from The Johnny Otis Band, drummer Gary Silva from Elvin Bishop & Norton Buffalo's bands. The songs are "middle-aged angst," often humorous; in fact a drunk person once compared Doug's songs to Warren Zevon's...Here's a review:With a Little Help Doug Jayne gets by quite well By Karl Byrn The first kick you'll get from Doug Jayne's solo disc, It Looks Like She's Going on a Trip, is the cover. It's designed as a perfect copy of the Beatles' Rubber Soul, from the front's evergreen background and psychedelic distortion, right down to the exact cropping and positioning of family photos inside. But the real pleasure is the disc itself: a robust, easy-going stew of original blues shuffles, country-folk reflections, rock workouts, and jazz, bluegrass, and Tex-Mex nuances that features a notable array of local talent. The Rubber Soul cover, Jayne says, is his tribute to "where I came from. . . . My brother and I listened to that album on our dad's stereo the day it was released. I was 10, and it was my first serious musical jaw-drop. If that moment didn't happen, I could be asking, 'You wanna super-size that?' instead of working in the music business." Thanks to that "musical jaw-drop," Jayne did end up as a luminary in the Sonoma County music scene. He's co-owner of the Last Record Store, host of KRCB radio's Connections on Wednesday nights, and head of Jackalope Records (on which he plans to release a "Live from the Powerhouse" series of discs to benefit KRCB). Jayne also plays in various local bands, so naturally his bandmates helped flesh out his solo disc. Bassist Dean Wilson and reed man Ari Camarota play with Jayne in Stupid White People. Bassist (and cover designer) Robert Malta plays with Jayne in Loser Friendly. His current band, Laughing Gravy, lent the skills of dobro, banjo, and mandolin player Kevin Russell (whose own solo disc, You Don't Know Me, was recently released on Jackalope), accordion player and keyboardist Ron Stinnett (also of the Ruminators), and vocalists Allegra Broughton and Sam Page (also of Solid Air). Jayne is particularly pleased with some contributions from new players: drummer Gary Silva, who plays with ...
