| | Fakers Professional Weekenders CD Fakers Discography of CDs
The Fakers were formed on a Sherrif's Labor Assistance Program Clean-Up of Interstate 80 in 1998. After procuring some Guitars and amplifiers in exchange for some sports autographs and cigarettes of questionable origin, production of their CD commenced upon their release. Producer Phil Spector bowed out after his eventual run-in with the authorities, so the album was finished by the Fakers themselves. Master counterfeiters and art forgers, the Fakers have produced a CD which sounds remarkably like rock and roll. The reviews have been pouring in:"...a barrage of quirkie fun garage guitars that come together to form these 3 minute masterpieces." - Bug, Host of Scotch Plains Cable's Egg TV"....I'll be listening to this CD 20 years from now" - R. Hill, Big Game Hunter and Musical Savant".....these guys need cheering up" - Leo's Mother-In-Law Professional Weekenders Music | Category | Rock/Pop Albums, Rock CDs, International | | Label | The Fakers | | Orig Year | 2005 | | CD Universe Part number | 7164876 | | Catalog number | 14487 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Mar 01, 2005 | | Studio/Live | Studio | | Mono/Stereo | Stereo | | Recording Time | 52 minutes |

| | Sandfly Surprise CD (2003)
Professional Weekenders album
$10.15 SANDFLYWhile based in San Francisco, Sandfly draws inspiration for its 21st century rock/reggae/live jam sound from the international heritage and experience of its frontman and founder, Samir Moussa. Its romantic sound, often in a minor key, has a message of unity, a positive vibration that's particularly timely in this conflicted era. Sandfly has cultivated a remarkable ability to communicate with wide audiences, creating soundscapes that are soothing and familiar via chord progression, yet brimming with inventive beats and inspired, Zeppelin-esque lead guitar work. Samir's husky tenor voice, striking appearance, and genuine warmth for his audience win him new fans at every live show.Communicating themes of love, connectedness, everyday struggles and achievements, the pulse of Sandfly beats to the possibility of each new day: "With every sunrise / there's a surprise, / so rise and open your eyes/ yes rise to a surprise" Sandfly has a debut record and is looking for professional management to help with distribution and touring. The name Sandfly is a reflection of Samir's belief in the ultimate victory of good over evil. In 2000, Samir visited Costa Rica, working as a translator on the documentary The Hidden People, which focuses on the struggles and survival of an indigenous BriBri family. In the jungle, a sandfly embedded a parasite into Samir's arm. After a three-week treatment that allowed plenty of time for reflection, Samir decided that naming his band Sandfly would pay tribute to his tiny adversary and demonstrate how 'out of the darkness there must come out a light'; a quote of one of his musical inspirations, Bob Marley. Samir was born in Washington, D.C., to a Lebanese father and a Colombian mother. In recent months he has played San Francisco's legendary Fillmore several times, and he's had international gigs, from Canada to Lebanon to Colombia to Denmark to Greece A lifetime of travel through the lands of his culture and beyond has made Samir a citizen of the international community, speaking four languages and leading him to a creed of: "One world, one love, one blood."His sense of responsibility, born from having been given great opportunities and a unique talent, has culminated in the debut ...
