...don't be afraid to use your mind......combine your thoughts with mine......let's see what we can find...come on now, you can read the signs...this ain't no time for flyin' blind......feel and free your mind......come on and shake your behind......use both ends of your spine...let the music climb...you voices true and kind...bringing seeds of peace of mind.........IT'S SAGIN' TIME--"Sagin' Time" by Joshua YeidelUP ON YONDER RIDGEcan you see the light of the morning... up on yonder ridge...It's an American story -- all of us emigrants from older settlements, immigrants to these open spaces, coming to love and coming to be shaped by the Palouse, this region of rolling hills, with their soft curves like recumbent women, covered once with long wild grass, now mostly planted in wheat, rising from the rocky deserts of the Columbia Basin in the west, ramping up into North Idaho's conifer-covered mountains. We are shaped, our music is shaped, our band and our bond are shaped in long summer sunshine and long winter dark, in great long-armed winds rolling across hundreds of miles of flat and up the foothill canyons to whisper, moan, and call at our doors, windows, and walls. Nature is still large here, the buildings and pavings are still relatively small. Music remains connected to the ridges and the winds, to the Family of Man gathered around a campfire, at a wedding, at a fair under the moon. With our family and friends close by, we know no other way than to sing our hearts and souls directly. In place of any ambition to be heard above a city's giant clamour, we bring a human-sized hope, seasoned both by failure and by success, that music can feed the best in all of us. If sages we be (and in the nick of time, maybe), our sagacity lies mostly in cherishing the fine web that interlaces the land and the people, the heart and the mind, and the music. Taste Of Life Itself CD music
$14.19 It's no secret that Sting is a serious man, so it's only logical that his holiday album -- his first new music since the Police reunion, not that it really matters -- is a serious endeavor, thank you. No niceties for him, no comforts of carols; he favors formal over familiar, writing madrigals, not ditties. It is music made by someone who lives in a castle, which isn't necessarily such a bad thing: the austerity is genuine, not affected, and the cerebral nature of the album is fascinating, albeit mildly so, as this is as sleepy as it is thoughtful. And it's that thoughtfulness that does distinguish ...

$14.65 In strictly musical terms, you simply have to give this album top marks. It contains just about every recording that could be called essential from the Wailers' Studio One era in the mid-'60s, when they were evolving (like most of their contemporaries) from the galloping ska sound that had ruled the Jamaican dancehalls for the previous five years into the slower, thicker rhythm ...

Taste Of Life Itself songs
$8.79 The follow up album to "The One and 99" (1999), Texas singer/songwriter Ed Morales has released "Apple & Thorns" a self-produced and self-recorded collection of songs that features classic guitar and piano infused in modern electronic production with lyrics that express soulful themes of spiritual relevance and redemption.Somewhere along his decades long musical pathway — possibly while on the road or hanging in the air between his various homes in Nashville, Austin or San Antonio, Texas singer/ songwriter Ed Morales caught a vision for his own brand of guitar-based alternative rock. He has taken expressive acoustic and electric guitar, and imbued it with an emotional, plaintive vocal quality that seems to aim for a transparency with the listener.Gifted in the art of live performance, his musicality, harmony and emotional range point back to earlier influences — McCartney, Petty and Henley. Yet his thoughtful arrangements prove elusive to those that might simply file his work under basic rock. This is an art-infused collection reminiscent of classic AOR - it makes for a memorable live show, and for great ‘headphone music’.Ed Morales is no stranger to the music world; he has fronted no less than four bands in the past two decades, and has had successful solo releases as well; the fruits of his songwriting have received praise and recommendation from noted names such as: Billboard, CMJ, Performance Magazine and Cross Rhythms; and his works merited rotation on dozens of radio stations ...
