"I've always been very comfortable working with my brother on many music projects ever since he was about 12 years old.", said Marko. "I believe we are always on the same wavelength and that fact has really enhanced our abilities to stay creative and be productive." The combination of Marko's mother being an artist/painter and always stressing to him, "you need to maintain continuity in your work" and Marko's appreciation for great album oriented material (AOM,) i.e. Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon, Uriah Heep's Demons & Wizards and Todd Rundgren's A Wizard - A True Star, just to name a few, Marko set out to keep the Universal EP AOM with continuity. The Entire EP was produced and engineered by Marko himself on his own label, Warp Drive Productions, www.warpdriveprod.comDisclaimer: Hey, Let's be honest, we're not going to BS you and tell you that Marko started in the music business when he was only 2 years old like some bands are doing here at CD Baby. History: Marko began with piano lessons at the age of 8 and then later after much banging at the dinner table, his parents decided he was going to be a drummer. With his father and grandfather both being orchestra leaders in Chicago, Marko was introduced to many musical styles and became a AFM Union musician at age 16 when he first went to work as a professional musician. Frank Colón – Force Majeure Frank Colón is a specialist in Latin-Caribbean, Brazilian and Asian percussion instruments including congas, bongos, timbales, bata drums, shekere, cuica, berimbau, and tabla drums, among others. Born in Georgetown, Washington, D.C, he grew up in Puerto Rico from between the ages of 7 to 18 years old. He started his musical journey at a very early age, studying piano with the Figueroa family, Puerto Rico’s internationally acclaimed classical music family. Graduating high school, he went back to Washington, D.C. to study Political Science at The American University. During that time, he did extensive personal research in the field of ethnomusicology while also playing with local bands. Moving to New York, Frank began his musical career with a five-year stint in Julito Collazo's Afro-Cuban drum ensemble. On the city's jazz scene, he began performing with Walter Booker, Chet Baker, Jaco Pastorious, Michel Camilo and African master drummer, Babatunde Olatunji. He went on to perform and record with Gato Barbieri, Harry Belafonte, Weather Report, Tania Maria, Flora Purim, and Airto Moreira. Traveling to Rio de Janeiro, Frank became an instant hot commodity! On a record session with the well-known Brazilian vocal band, MPB4, he introduced the Afro-Caribbean shekere into Brazilian music. Since then, this instrument has become essential to the instrumental arsenal of every modern contemporary percussionist! During three years in Milton Nascimento's band, Frank toured all over Europe and Brazil, and recorded on many albums.
