Songs Of Ed Monroe music CDs
$13.15 ALLAN BYER - CENTRAL OREGON'S EVERYMAN SINGER/SONGWRITERIt's heartening to encounter an Artist that takes his role in the world, his voice and his vision, seriously, who dares to imagine that art can matter in the unglamorous world of everyday survival, and that the every day world bears artistic expression. One such artist is Central Oregon singer/songwriter guitarist Allan Byer. For over 20 years Byer has crafted his songs of love, wonder, pain and hope with power and eloquence. He can comment on the spiritual search or poke fun at fast food or political injustice with equal ability. Always grounded in compassion for the human condition, at his best, Byer reflects back to us our own struggles to envision the world as it could be. At the core of his work is a profound reverence for life and the gifts of this world. He explores the possibility of seeing the world as it is and not losing heart. REVIEWSBend's Source calls his music "an eclectic mix of rootsy instrumentation and harmonies that breaths fresh air with wide-reaching inspirations." The Redmond Spokesman says, "Allan Byer is an incredibly talented singer/songwriter who plays a smokin' guitar."The Source later says, "Local groover Byer delights listeners with his refreshingly original acoustic folk rock sounds." The Bend Bugle says, "Allan Byer and his group provide a night full of originality and character." Bend Bulletin's Andy Whipple says of Byer's debut cd, "He delivers a pleasant surprise. It's a declaration of faith and self-confidence, proving up on the optimistic claim staked out in the title ("Sometimes It Works"). STYLESBYER TOUCHES ALL THE BASES WITH A LITTLE BIT OF BLUES, FOLK, COUNTRY, ROCK, AND JAZZ. VENUES Byer has played over 100 gigs each year since 2000 as a solo act (on guitar, harmonica, and vocals), in Duo with Doc Sackman or hot-licks guitar player Matt Engle, or as a Trio with featured soloist Dr. Marc Sackman on flute ...
| | David Feder Reason Why CD (1998)
Songs Of Ed Monroe songs
$17.09 "If you don't want to hit the dance floor, something's wrong!" Someone once said that writing about music is comparable to dancing about architecture. There's no way to convey through the written word just how good the performances on "The Reason Why" are; I can only suggest that you get the CD and find out for your self. If you like cool jazz, hot blues, rock, swing, Michael Franks, or Steely Dan, you won't be disappointed in the CD. When you get the disc, turn off the phone and TV, turn the lights down low, pour yourself a glass of fine wine or other suitable spirits, perhaps light up a cigar, sit back, pop in the CD, and get ready for some great music. Singer/songwriter/guitarist David Feder has released his latest CD,titled 'The Reason Why." Featuring eleven original songs, "The Reason Why" provides even more proof that Feder continues to be one of the most talented musicians in the Florida Keys. (He's a hell of a nice guy to boot) Unlike his previous release, "Waiting For Sara," the new disc is a collection of jazz-, blues-, and rock-influenced vocal songs. Not that there's anything lacking in the instrumental side, however, Feder is in his usual excellent form on guitar and vocals, plus guest guitarists Jimmy Hawkins and Roach Thompson lay down some tasty licks. Saxophonist/flautist Marc Berner burns up quite a few tracks as well. Suffice it to say that there are a lot of great performances by some excellent musicians on this CD. "David Feder took the stage next -- a real world-class act. He did amazing things on an electrified Taylor classical guitar during an absolutely incredible set. Dave premiered several new compositions from two soon-to-be-released CDs called "Black Emerald" (Hillbilly Flamenco) and "Leila's Dream," as well as songs from "Waiting for Sara." If his sheer musicianship wasn't dazzling enough, the stories he told about his compositions were funny, moving, and he really touched a lot of people with his music." Byline: John Bartus from Tourbaby Show Reprinted from Monroe Council of the Arts Summer newsletter 2000 Dave Feder (Biography from Arts Council Article)Magic happens when a person finds the one thing in life he or she was meant to do. Such is the case with Upper Keys musician David Feder. Somehow it's hard to imagine Feder doing anything other than creating and playing music. Feder began taking piano and guitar lessons when he was four years old and was writing songs for the guitar at age ten! In fact, he says that some of the music he plays today are variations of songs he wrote ...

Songs Of Ed Monroe album
$9.75 This album was created by two individuals. Below are short versions of their story...Dustin Case aka Dust-D:Californian to the heart. Passion for music hit him at a young age. The fusion of various genres came head strong growing up between the streets of Los Angeles and Ventura counties.A style encouraged by the influence of rap, rock, soul, oldies, ska, punk, classical and grunge to name a few. Well thought out and well traveled. He has been around the world, has been featured on some well known artists releases such as Mondo Marcio under Virgin Italy (code name "Spoon" on Mondos b-side) Associated with founding members of Los Angeles' infamous COLA Crew.Always expanding and always listening. With the experience of the two most influential genres of his time virtually mastered, (rock and hip hop) he has made the initial step into becoming a name that will eventually linger."Music should be free. People nowadays are focused too much on making money or making ...
