A follow-up to 2004's "Hang On To Your Ego," this album contains twelve original songs that explore life in the early 21st century. From fear and paranoia to humor and excitment, a collection of characters meet, interact, scream, and whisper their reactions and desires.Genres collide. Some songs contain distorted manic blues guitar with bass clarinets, violins, violas, and cellos soaring over it; while others contain layers of mallet percussion, flutes, radios, and prepared percussion. There are pop songs with bright pianos and French horns and big band arrangments with a 13 piece horn section manned by three people.Throughout all of this pervades a sense of songwriting that borders on being sincere and irreverent. Is it journalism? Commentary? A cantata? Leftover B-sides? Clues are hidden throughout.Guest musicians include Molly Agnew, Tim Borst, Andra Durham, David Ferguson, Jon Gauger, Stacy McKinley, Elissa Metropoulos, Marcus Ranucci, KT Somero, and Hannah Trobe. Engineered and mastered by Stephen Jansen. Art by Katie Boehm. Mike Przygoda Sophomore Slump Songs | 1. | I'm Not Bitter, You're Just Stupid |

$9.95 In the 1960\'s and early 1970\'s Henry Stone started to record some local Miami talent. Stone was strongly influenced musically by his association with James Brown and you can hear this influence in the artists who make up this Miami Funk CD.Mr. Percolator aka Perk Badger, I Got A Thing For You Baby It is easy to hear that James Brown was Percolator\'s inspiration and primary motivator. Perk Badger was a businessman who owned several record shops in Miami and would buy his records from Henry Stone\'s Tone distributors. Badger was very popular on the club scene and the ladies loved him. He was indeed the \"Percolator.\"The Mighty Dog Catchers, Nasty Dog This was the weirdest band I have ever had the pleasure to know and produce. They were a one-take band and the recording was done and hot to go. Their style of music was comic-relief during the turbulent days of the late 60\'s and 70\'s. They were a product of Deep City Records in Liberty City which was owned by two schoolteachers, Willie Clarke and Johnny Persall. Band members included Charlie Smith on guitar, Reed Roberts on bass, Vernon \"Piggy\" Teague on saxophone, Clifford Hawkins on drums, and King Edwards on keyboards.Franky Seay, Soul Food Seay is a unique example of what Miami Beach was about in the 60\'s and 70\'s. The bands were loose and funky and had a certain sound that made them different. Seay was a talented guitarist and well liked. His loose, ...

Sophomore Slump CD music
$14.79 If you’re into betting, you may want to put your money on Tonja, the sultry singer/songwriter who’s paying her dues in Las Vegas in hope of becoming “the next big thing” in music.Born and raised in New York City, Tonja has spent the bulk of her life honing her passion for singing. It all started when her mother recognized her fascination with music at a mere five years of age and fostered that fascination by enrolling her in singing, piano and violin lessons. She had been blessed with an enormous head start, and Tonja took full advantage of it. After years of hard work and sacrifice, she eventually sang her way to Vegas, establishing herself by performing in some of Sin City’s largest casinos and by landing spots as a background singer for both Rebbie Jackson of the world famous Jackson clan and the accomplished Carl Carlton. Tonja also found herself performing before audiences across the country as part of both the "Platters" and "The Marvelettes" reviews. After having lent her ...

Sophomore Slump songs
$9.35 BIOGRAPHY I've been singing and dancing probably from around 18 months old. I attended something called charm school at 5 years old, where I learned a tea cup turn and had my first and last run-way show. I remember raiding my mothers 45 record collection of "Yackety Yack Don't Talk Back" then on to "Where's the playground Susie" and having my sister accompany me in various live shows for anyone who would listen. I just couldn't get over someone writing a song with my name in it. I had poems published in "the best of ...," a collection of works from children in the buffalo area schools. I'll never forget watching my piano teacher play each piece she brought to the house. I was amazed at how easily her 1000 year old arthritic fingers seemed to float over the keys with several lessons ending with me in tears and her saying, "you didn't practice, did you?" Wow, was my row ...

$12.69 Widescreen Reason's " 'Widescreen Reason': This excellent five-song EP throws thoughtful songwriting onto a sonic dreamscape comprised of layered instruments and harmonizing vocals. Sadly, the disc's release date was stunted when the band's drummer Matt Steele died of brain cancer a few months ago. But we know he's in heaven now, listeninng to musical magic he helped create on this debut. See widescreenreason.com."--Santa Barbara Independent ( http://independent.com/ ), January 18 - 25, 2007 issueThe Debut EP by Widescrean Reason slightly resembles The Arcade Fire, Elliott Smith, and The Flaming Lips. The group's influences include Wilco, Nick Drake, and Stars.WIDESCREEN REASON- BIOWe play in a hole in the floor, a lot like a bomb shelter except moldy. We scribble verses on the wall because it feels reckless. And empty a gallon of water out of the de-humidifier every time we play because it feels responsible. It is near the second train station of our little upwardly mobile coastal town, the one where the tourists do not get off. The one by the airport and the warehouses. We go there sometimes, but not all that often. Mostly as therapy, because we have problems, mostly ones that we like to talk about, and drink a beer about, and sometimes play music about. And sometimes the music sucks, and other times it doesn’t. Regardless, problems keep coming and going. Regardless, we keep going to the bomb shelter. We are: Matt, the sensitive drummer who wanted to make rock music, but has resigned that this mellow vibe music is good for his soul too. Gabe the dreaming man-singer who wanted to change the world by being optimistic, but is surrounded by the ...
| | Crash Street Kids Lets Rock & Roll Tonite CD (2005)
Sophomore Slump music CDs
$7.99 If you take the image of T.Rex, early David Bowie, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band and mix it with Robin Zander meets Dave Grohl vocal bravado, throw in a pinch of Slade, Ramones, and maybe Mott the Hoople, shaken, not stirred, you get Crash Street Kids. Ryan McKay, A.D. Adams, Ricky Serrano, Ryan "Deuce" Gregory. Their songs are catchy with riffs worthy of any classic 70's rock album. As is evident right off the bat once you hit with, the rocking "C'mon, C'mon", "Sugar Queen" and a killer rendition of Mott The Hoople's, "All The Young Dudes". A pity that Marc Bolan or Ian Hunter weren't involved. It would have just added luster to an already outstanding rock and roll band. 'LET'S ROCK AND ROLL TONITE' is a wonderfully glam and rocking album that you should never be without if you like loud guitars with really smart arrangements and incredible musicianship.Crash Street Kid's 'LET'S ROCK AND ROLL TONITE' is the kind of disc where new sonic details emerge even after multiple repeated listenings. There is more harmonic inventiveness and sheer melody in this one disc than most groups are able to come up with in their entire careers. 'LET'S ROCK AND ROLL TONITE' comes highly recommended. Guaranteed EARGASM! - The Atomic chaserThe DRP / All Access MagazineA long, long time ago I can still remember how the music used to make me smile......In the aftermath of the turbulent 1960’s came a breath of fresh air. It was a time when fun and fashion would rule the day, a time when simplicity and sincerity became more important than protest and pandemonium. It as a time when Ziggy Stardust came to earth and Mott the Hoople came to Broadway...and it was magical!!So with tongue placed firmly in cheek, Aladdin Sane announced to the world a change, beckoning us back to a higher calling. Back to the essence and spirit of what rock and roll was supposed to be.Flanked by legions of loyal followers from New York ...
