Music plants seeds in fertile minds. The seeds of the Finotee experience consist of lyrics that weave stories coupled with sounds that seduce you to journey inward. Blending rock, reggae, funk and soul music, Finotee is a band that is difficult to pigeonhole. Through the use of live instrumentation, Finotee's songs and lyrical content communicate social consciousness, personal truth and insight into the human experience. Finotee is an adaptation of the Ethiopian Amharic word "fenote," which means "the way." The use of this name reflects Finotee's respect for every individual's unique path through life while encompassing the universal way of love. The members of Finotee consist of guitarist Peter Hucey, drummer Alvaro Rodriquez, bassist Ian Shaw, keyboardist Eric Wilson, percussionist Joe Barnes and vocalists Justice and Swan. Peter, Alvaro and Justice, the founding members of Finotee, met in Miami in 1996 and began writing music together. Determined to immerse themselves in a more musically diverse environment, they moved to New York in the fall of 1999. Soon after their arrival, Justice called upon her friend and former schoolmate, Swan, to join the group as a vocalist. Over the following year, Ian Shaw, Eric Wilson and Joe Barnes completed the band with their experience and passion for the music.The New York-based group has graced the stages of SOB's, Wetlands, Le Bar Bat and CB's Underground. Audiences have been known to truly "wake up" when Finotee takes the stage. Their live performances are popular because of the energy the band exudes which is as unique as their original music. As they continue their grass roots musical mission, Finotee allows the music to continue to speak for itself. Unified Tribe is an inspired collection of individuals, united through one multidimensional sound that lives to express a common goal. Born in the Bahamas, educated in both the United States and the UK, and lived between the UK and the Caribbean for the last seven years, one can find Franky nowadays chillin in the Bahamas. I first came on the production scene in 1992 and released my first video production entitled the "Total Balance" which was a Caribbean fitness video. After marketing promoting and working that for a few years, I then moved on to complete all of my academic studies. I completed both undergraduate and graduate studies and earned Masters degree ultimately from one of the top universities in the UK.I never lost the passion for the industry and went back hard to work in 2000, and has released four independently released albums since, on Unique Records, which is my own label.I am currently working on the release of my next album, which should be completed by the end of 2005, but will be released in 2006. I have been totally dedicated only to the music production side of the business since 2000, and over the last year have been busy touring and doing live events in Spain and the UK.'Metamorphosis' as you see it is my first solo project featuring a few artists that also collaborated with me on this. I have also produced two other albums for one of my artists, that are now being promoted over the internet, and also getting ready for some distribution. In this business its work non stop, and sleepless nights. I think that great success for me will come as I continue to work hard, not only in the studio but also on the business side as well. After all I have been here since 1992, and thats over 13 years so there is no stopping now. What you see and hear was written, produced and released on my label. Singer/songwriter Ron Louque has been in search of that elusive, perfect song since he was 15, when he shared a 6-track recorder and studio space with his father. Disillusioned with the grunge movement in the early 90s, he spent most of his high school days demoing progressive-rock masterpieces that mixed intricate time and chord changes, challenging riffs and thick vocal harmonies inspired by his lifelong love of The Beatles. During the mid-90s, popular music was definitely going through some big changes, with electronic music gaining momentum and artists like Garbage, Bjork, The Verve, and Radiohead coming to the forefront. "I began to change the way I approached songwriting." says Ron, "I suddenly realized that I didn't need a 6 minute song with a million parts to try and capture the mood I was going for. I started focusing on a simpler approach, a more directly emotive approach". And out of this direction, Years was born.Ron's friend since childhood, Cam Arbogast would spend many of those long hours at the Louque household, laying down drum take after drum take and helping Ron write parts. The two were constantly in search of like-minded musicians but in Orange, VA this was a tall order. Ron and Cam carried on despite the frustration of not having a band and continued to record song after song, while auditioning people whenever the occasion arose.In 1999, Brian Chenault formed the band Wisher with his long-time college friend Forrest. The two had recently moved back to Virginia after achieving moderate success with the band Bicycle, which was signed to Capricorn Records. Wisher spent the next few years building a fan base around Virginia and surrounding states and released their debut album in 2002, but personnel issues arose and Wisher disbanded in August of 2002.
