What happens when you put six musicians together with backgrounds and influences ranging from Bluegrass to Jazz to Celtic to Classical, and give them the common goal of making these varied types music come to life (and have a lot of fun doing it)?You get Out To Lunch!Based in the New York metropolitan area, Out To Lunch was "founded" in 1980 ... at first as a loose collection of friends coming together for an occasional "open mike" night. They soon began to "get serious" and refine their sound as they sensed they had something special to offer with shows that had broad appeal to audiences. Over twenty years later Out To Lunch is still delighting audiences with a sound uniquely their own that combines the best of musical warmth and sharpness. On a typical evening with Out To Lunch one might be treated to a smooth rendition of a classic such as Nat King Cole's "Straighten Up and Fly Right" or Bill Monroe's "Footprints in the Snow". From there, the band might just as easily shift gears and perform a "monster medley" of Celtic dance tunes or some their own inspired original compositions. While each of these tunes will no doubt bear the stamp of Out To Lunch's distinctive sound, the respect for the traditions that these tunes come from is obvious. The band's unique instrumentation incorporates two mandolins, guitar, fiddle, bass and hammered dulcimer. Their strong vocals blend to create harmonies that are a distinctive part of Out To Lunch's musical charm. Out To Lunch's self-titled recording has sold extensively and received favorable reviews and airplay on a variety of radio stations nationwide. They have appeared on live radio and television, and toured extensively throughout the Northeast. Critics and fans alike praise Out To Lunch's performances as warm, polished, never less than musically dazzling and always marked by lively, fun interaction with their audience. Out To Lunch album
$14.45 After the dark and chilling themes of 2006's BLACK CADILLAC, which saw Rosanne Cash dealing with the deaths of her mother, Vivian Liberto, her father, Johnny Cash, and her stepmother, June Carter Cash -- all of whom passed within a two-year span -- one might assume that her next project would move into an even deeper level of bleakness, but with THE LIST, it's immediately clear that she has instead found a more measured place to stand. It's a lovely and redemptive outing that looks back to go forward. When Cash turned 18, her father, alarmed that his daughter only knew the songs that were getting played on the radio, gave her a list of what he considered 100 essential American songs; Cash kept that list, and now she's drawn on it for this wonderfully nuanced outing that brims with a kind of redemptive timelessness. THE LIST is a renewal and a testament to life, and it belongs to her father as much as it belongs to her, a beautiful restatement of her father's passions, only now, they've become his daughter's treasures, as well. It's an affirming story, but that's ...
| | Brad Paisley American Saturday Night CD (2009)
Out To Lunch CD music
$12.95 An American saturday night is not an unusual topic for a country song but Brad Paisley's celebration is. Paisley sees a typical weekend night as a cultural collision of French kisses, Italian Ices, Canadian bacon and margaritas, a place where Mexican and Dutch beers chill side by side in a bucket of ice. If he leans too heavily on labels, referring to those beers by brand name, it's merely a reflection of Paisley's uncanny knack for capturing the casual contemporary details of American life at the tail end of the 2000s. It's not just the pile up of iPhones and international video chats on "Welcome to the Future," the first country anthem of the Obama era, it's how he'll pick up prescription for his girl and flips macho stereotypes on their head on "The Pants." He's a thoroughly modern man and ...

Of this CD, Bill Conner of KNBT in San Marcos, TX says "Beth's songs are not written as much as crafted, her soaring vocals add just the right amount of electricity to each track. When you hear her psychedelic yodel-chants on Track 5, you'll laugh out loud, and you'll be hooked for good.""STEADY CONVERSATION WITH THE LORD" Williams produced & released Steady conversation with the Lord, an album full of tried & true hymns, gospel favorites, and 2 of her own gospel compositions. | | Country Fried Nowhere No More CD (2004)
Out To Lunch songs
$18.99 Back around the turn of the century down in the Big Easy, four good ole boys grew exhausted of the trail country music had taken, so they began paying tribute to roots music greats in neighborhood bars and backyard parties. Driven to succeed they ride on, developing the unique old-school music style down the original country path. They first saddled up a posse of three- Whiskey T, Red Stick, and BIG Country.Whiskey T hails from upstate New York, but began his guitar pickin' ways in the south of Mississippi before making his way to New Orleans in 1995. Taylor Garrett, now known as Red Stick, made the short trip down river from Baton Rouge around the same time. The two met and began strumming together soon afterwards. Realizing their love and quest for music, they set out to be heard, but they needed a lead singer. Lifelong friend of Red Stick, Brian "BIG Country" Ayres had returned from travels west and little convincing was needed for him to join his friend in the most interesting city in the world. The trio began writing and ...
| | John Bucchino Solitude Lessons CD (2001)
Out To Lunch album
$18.99 Solitude Lessons features John performing eleven of his songs. All lead vocal and instrumental performances by John.John's comments on SOLITUDE LESSONS: "Whereas the GRATEFUL CD showcases the cabaret side of my writing, SOLITUDE LESSONS is an intimate solo CD which provides a glimpse of a more pop aspect (well, my version of pop, anyway -- I mean it ain't exactly Justin Timberlake...) Listening to it I can hear so many of my influences: Joni Mitchell in "Love Quiz", The Beatles in "Impossible Here", Simon and Garfunkel in "If I'd Been With Him", Stevie Wonder in "The Same Man". I recorded the songs back in the 90's -- most were written after the end of a 6-year relationship. I had also just gotten some home recording equipment so one by one, as I wrote the songs, ...
