Peter Bailey Statement of Faith: I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and "The Way, The Truth and The Life" as stated in John 14:6. I have received Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, and desire daily to live pleasing to Him. I will treat others with the utmost respect and integrity both in business and on a personal level. I am prepared to take advantage of every opportunity He provides to witness according to Revelation 12:11. This page covers Peter's background both personally and musically.Writer, vocalist and bassist Peter Bailey was born October 5th, 1952 and raised up in the Episcopalian faith in the Chicago area during the 50's when the family was the forefront and staple of the American way. Child 5 of 6 he was brought up in a loving home with both parents and a house full of siblings with ranging ages. His first introduction to music was the Accordion that his mother (who loved playing piano herself) would encourage her children to learn. In those days they would come to your home and teach your child. Peter 10 and his older sister Joy 12 would not find the instrument that intriguing and generally never practiced. Around the age 12 he decided that the Saxophone was an instrument he would truly like to play, but like kids at that age the desire would fall short in the reality. Knowing he had exhausted his ability to request for his parents to buy him another try he purchased the next instrument on his own and taught himself to play bass. At last he had found his musical voice in the world. As with most people of the early 60's generation he was affected by the arrival of a little band who had jumped the pond to conquer America..."The Beatles". By the age of 14 he was playing with local garage bands and by 15 he was developing his songwriting skills. At the age of 18 he would lose his loving and cherished mother Catherine (Betty) Bailey to Cancer. This would leave an un-measurable hole in his life followed up just a short 3 years later with the loss of his father Peter Bailey Sr. At 22, he moved to Champaign, IL and began playing everything from Rock to Jazz with such groups as Afterbirth, The Slink Rand Group, and The Re-Runs. In 1982 Peter did a stint with the Beatles protégé` group, Badfinger. The following year it was on to Roadmaster, this Indianapolis based band played clubs and concerts as an opening act for Billy Squier. Later they would ...
