Jon Robert Quinn's fourth CD Release is outstanding, providing intense, in-your-face instrumental rock. This CD provides 13 high-energy tracks that redefines Jon Robert Quinn's sound and abilities. Months before JeRQ THIS! was released, radio stations from around the world got to sample the CD. Immediately, they started adding songs to their playlists. This is no suprise to anybody, since this IS the BEST Jon Robert Quinn record to date and critics have given this CD outstanding reviews.------------------------Here's a breakdown of each song from the mind of Jon Robert Quinn. BELIEVE - I had so much fun writing and recording this CD that I believed that is was going to do extremely well. And well, it did. The JeRQ THIS was the best selling record to date. The tour from that CD was awesome. We had such a great time meeting the new fans and playing all the new venues. This song goes much deeper than another fun song though. In the opening of the song, you will hear a whistling noise. Believe it or not, that is actually a guitar, and no its not effects. Here's how I got the sound. Take you wah pedal and plug the input into the output and output into the input, basically plug it in backwards. Turn the guitar all the way up and use your tonal knobs and volume knobs to manipulate the signal. Then use your wah. You have to do it all very very slowly to make any kind of noise with this technique. I used to offer free CDs on tours if anybody could tell me how I got that noise of the guitar. Needless to say, I never gave any free CDs out. SUBMERGED - Submerged was written as a jam and nothing more than that. The track was written and put into a delay to get a deeper effect. The guitars were then added and as it turns out was a hit on the JeRQ THIS Tour in 2005. THE INTIMIDATOR - For any Nascar fan, The Intimidator is known as Dale Earnhardt Sr. I was a huge fan of Earnhardt before his death in 2001. This song was written in tribute to him. This song is song #3 on both this CD and The Best of Jon Robert Quinn, in tribute to the #3 on his car. Being a 7 minute, this song has to take you on a journey. It starts out with a nice balanced pace symbolizing his career. A man with a goal and a passion to be the best he can be. A third of the way through the song, things go haywire with a crazy guitar solo symbolizing the top of his career with his Daytona 500 wins. Two-thirds of the way through the song, it seems to come to an end symbolizing his big crash at Daytona. Though his life was ended, his legacy was not. The song goes back to the original groove proving that though he may not be with us anymore, he will forever be known as one of the greatest race car drivers in history. LOOK INTO THE HEAVENS - Have you ever looked into the heavens? If not, sit back and stare into the sky. Listen to this song and don't think of anything except the clouds passing by. This is a great song to just sit back and relax as you look into the heavens. JERQ THIS - One day in 2004, somebody online called me a jerk using my initials JRQ, spelling it JeRQ. So when recording this record, I needed a good name for it. JeRQ kind of stuck with me, but I couldnt just name it JeRQ. So what about JeRQ THIS? Everybody I talked to about it loved it. Growing up in the rural Pennsylvania Dutch rooted town of Beaver Springs, PA, Hannah Bingman first began pleading to her parents for a guitar after discovering the Beatles and B.B. King in a seventh grade music class. It was at her surprise thirteenth birthday party that Hannah received her first guitar. Shortly beforehand, she broke her ankle in a tragic trampoline accident, keeping her out of her summer basketball league and leaving more time to devote to the new instrument. "Suddenly, basketball didn't matter much...it couldn't at that time. I'd spend hours everyday with my little cast on my foot and my guitar on my lap," Hannah remembers. With weekly lessons and a thirst for more, Bingman began writing her own "little ditties" months after taking up the guitar. All the while, she was teaching herself Beatles tunes and old folk songs. She began listening to jazz and folk vocalists, such as Billie Holiday and Joni Mitchell. She paid great attention to the guitar work of blues players and to the storytelling of folk artists Woody Guthrie and Ani DiFranco. By age sixteen, she was testing her original material during open mic nights at every bar and coffeehouse in the Central PA area she could make her way into. "My cat was serving as a great audience, by I needed something more," Bingman jokes. "For a little 16-year-old girl with an acoustic guitar that's bigger than her to walk in and then there's all these 50-some year-old guys with ponytails... they're there with their acoustic guitars like it's something new and then I play ...
