Jetro da Silva born in Meier, Rio de Janeiro, in February 28th, 1967. DaSilva began his musical training at 12 years old. With only one month of piano lessons, Jetro was already playing for his church congregation (Sao Joao de Meriti Baptist Church). When Jetro turned 14, he told his dad that he wanted to pursue music seriously. At that time, Jetro started searching for the best music schools in Rio de Janeiro. Then somebody told him about Escola Nacional de Musica, the most respected classical school in Rio. Jetro prepared for the audition and within one month he was accepted as a full scholarship student. At only 16, Jetro was the sole supporter of his family, playing with world-renowned musicians and his Pentecostal church Nova Vida da Tijuca in Rio da Janeiro. After touring with several Brazilian artists Jetro moved to Boston to extend his music education at Berklee College of Music, majoring in Music Production and Engineering.Because of his talent and experience in Brazil as a producer, performer, arranger and songwriter, it didn't take Jetro very long for the music community in Boston and LA to embrace him. Jetro now holds a position as the Professor of the Ensemble Department at prestigious BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC in Boston, Ma. Jetro's experience, training as keyboardist/producer/arranger has increase his opportunity to work with people such as:Whitney Houston, Patti Labelle, Pastor Andrae Crouch, Pastor Bam Crawford, Chaka Khan, The Pointer Sisters, Gladys Knight, Brandy, Sheyla E., Namie Amuro, Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Celine Dion, Patti Austin, Emilio Santiago, Monica, and many others. $14.79 Jazz guitarist Pat Metheny calls Fred Haas "a totally world-class saxophone player." Fred has performed with Oscar Peterson, Ray Charles, Clark Terry, Sheila Jordan, Lena Horne, Dionne Warwick, The Mitchell-Ruff Duo, Joe Morello, Milt Hinton, Attila Zoller, Don Cherry, Bob Brookmeyer, Gene Bertoncini and many others. Trumpet legend Clark Terry said, "You won't find a more capable jazz player and teacher than Fred Haas, and that's a fact!" Thomas Herrick, former publisher of Downbeat Magazine said, "Fred Haas is a consummate musician with a brilliant chordal sense and great execution...he has a definite identifiable style of his own." And bassist Milt Hinton said, "Fred is a great musician and a joy to work with."Fred Haas, a Dartmouth graduate ('73), teaches saxophone, jazz piano, improvisation, jazz history and other jazz related courses at Dartmouth College. He lives in Hartland, Vermont, and travels throughout New England (and beyond) performing and recording with a variety of musicians, including Paul Broadnax and Gene Bertoncini. Fred's latest CD, Telling Stories is a trio outing featuring Fred on piano and saxophone with support from guitarist Gene Bertoncini and bassist Michael Moore. It is a collection of twelve original compositions. Other recent releases, Friends and Strike Up The Band, are collaborations with pianist and vocalist Paul Broadnax and his trio. Jetro Da Silva Live
$16.45 If Noah Webster could have seen Peggy and Brad perform, the laudable lexicographer might have included them in his definition for the word “synergy.” The duo’s nucleus of driving guitar and incendiary vocals dynamically combine in a fusion of aural energy that could power homes from Akron to Zanesville. Drummers, bassists, and backup singers need not apply – Like magicians pulling rabbits out of hats, Brad extracts an entire orchestra from his guitar, while Peggy’s onstage antics unleash a passel of performing professionals. And when the Master of the Turkey Baster appears, the act enters uncharted territory. “…Fearless,” ...
