Music is action. Music is life. Music is the air in your lungs. You can live for it. You can die for it. It can be the warm friend that cheers you up when things are down. It can be sexy. It can heal your wounds. Music has no limits, beautiful in its predictibilty. Every note has been played that is going to be played. Every chord has been struck. Every note has been sung. But you can't escape. You can run, but even if you hide- it will find you. We don't listen to music because we want to, we listen because we have to. Albert (vocals, guitars)makes music not because he wants to, but he has to. He wants to be remembered more as a song writer than a singer. "A song is so much more than a voice or a guitar riff," Albert says, "it can be everything and nothing at the same time, it just depends on where you are in life at a particular time. You remember songs, not voices and guitar players. It's the song, man, the song." His songs come from his heart. Whether he is breaking from inner demons and waking up to life in "Around". Or struggling with the loss of a friend to suicide in "High". The songs are honest and genuine. If you want to really know Albert, its in his songs. The group is rounded out with the formidable rhythm section of Brett Hartline (drums) and Curtiss Anderson (bass). With Jay Guthrie's unique style on lead guitar, the band is complete. Listen closely and maybe you'll find a new friend. 9 Xtra Floors Music | Category | Rock/Pop Albums, Rock CDs | | Label | On the Side | | Orig Year | 2001 | | CD Universe Part number | 7180247 | | Catalog number | 10294 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Jun 26, 2001 | | Studio/Live | Studio | | Mono/Stereo | Stereo | | Recording Time | 39 minutes |

9 Xtra Floors songs
$11.18 Last time around, Shakira touched upon so many styles she couldn't be contained on one album, splitting Oral Fixation in two. This time, she focuses on one sound only: a pulsating electro-disco that crosses all boundaries and welcomes all nationalities. Such concentration behooves Shakira, freeing her to release her inner She Wolf, a wild wacko who's as coo coo as she is carnal. And for as sexy as Shakira is -- crucially, her music is sexy too -- what really gives She Wolf its bite is her inspired nuttiness, how she laments that Matt Damon's not meant for her, and wishes her ex-lover and his new girl ...

Release the Medicine is a singular and integrated artistic expression. there are distinct artistic and philosophical views that provide the underpinnings of the album. these views could be described as "old-school", "organic", and "let it all hang out." Release the Medicine is a seed, cool and resting in the ground, and is simultaneously phat with energy that is always on the verge of opening into the sunlight.Release the Medicine stirs deep in that good old soup once again, and enthusiastically encourages an instant expression of that stiring. All tracks but one on Release the Medicine were recorded using analog equipment (16 track/1" reel to reel) by recording engineer Myles Boisen in Oakland. The remaining track, muskoka river, was recorded by former Grateful Dead Sound Engineer, Betty Cantor-Jackson, at Glide Memorial Church in San Francisco. Most tracks feature sylvia only on guitar/vocals or guitar/vocals/cello. Myles Boisen plays bass on 4 tracks, Jason Miller plays guitar on 2 tracks, and Carla Fay and Hallie Hammer provide background vocals on the track release the medicine. sylvia is a believer. in addition to that, she is a deadhead, singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and hospice worker living in oakland, california. sylvia's lyrics are central to her creative expression, but she is an interesting guitarist as well, with a unique style of rhythm. she also does arrangements of her favorite rock and roll tunes on cello, such as in Terrapin Station, the Hunter/Garcia tune that appears on release the medicine. Sylvia also demonstrates ...
