Allow me to introduce you to Mick Zengel. A Minnesotan, solo singer, songwriter and recording artist for over 35 years. Since his recent retirement from the business world he is now devoting his time and attention to his true passion, music. When asked what drives him to continue doing what he does as an artist Mick replies: "The appreciation I get from people who believe in my style; which is simply my heart and soul. My inspiration is a long time history and love for music." The logos on his products say it best; "the music is... The Water of Life, and the Whiskey of Passion! "Mick Zengel is a name we will be hearing a lot more of in the future. Zengel is noted for his exceptional voice and lyrics that seem to leave one spellbound. With the release of his original hits album "IN THE WAY" and it's darkly passionate ballads to the new release of "A CELTIC COLLECTION" featuring Zengel's haunting vocals on traditional Irish covers, he brings a soulful experience and something original to a weary music market."Dave Morehouse In The Chips Recording Studio Baraga, MI Released in March, is the formerly recorded duo album "Two Old Dogs". Mick's first solo album "IN THE WAY"©2002 was re-released in the USA and Japan in late April of 2003. Current performances include but are not limited to, the Duluth/Superior areas of Minnesota/Wisconsin and the Eastern Michigan folk arena. He is also busy in the studio recording. Plans for summer 2003 include: Performances the Aura Jamboree in Baraga, MI, Lumberjack Jmboree,in Newberry, MI and plans for a southwest performing tour in the winter of 2004. Zengel plays guitar, mandolin, dulcimer, harmonica, and bodhran. Folk ballads are his forte', but is versatile in performing other genres as well. Country Folk and Rock, Irish, and Rockabilly to name a few. Though Mick mainly performs solo,a few bands he's performed with are Abdomen, Grumpy Old Men, Easy Money and Errol Wyatt(formerly "A Few Old Guys"). Past performances: The Hacienda; Superior, WI, Sir Benedicts; in Duluth, MN, Aura Jamboree; in Baraga MI, Lumberjack Jamboree; in Newberry, MI. His first CD "IN THE WAY" is arranged, composed and performed by Mick and was copyrighted in 2002. The second CD "A Celtic Collection" is composed mainly of old traditional Irish songs with that special something he puts into all his work. Instruments used on this CD are 6 & 12 string guitars, mandolin, viola, violin, button box, penny flute (tin whistle), wood flute, 5 string banjo, tenor banjo and bodhrán. Okay, here's the story. Venesa Talor was born and raised on a farm in Barre, Vermont where she was brought up with herds of cows and flocks of Geese. Although she grew up in a small town, Venesa always had the performance craze going on. 'I had classical piano training by my Grandfather, Hrant Gregory Minnassian for nine years as a child and realized that I had a gift to play and write music by ear. Although reading music wasn't my thing, I learned to do it anyway'. At the ripe age of 18, Vanessa took leave from her small town Barre. 'It seemed like there was no light at the end of the tunnel unless I wanted to settle down and be a normal gal. Being 1st runner-up as Miss Vermont was about as far as I could go there, but I still had a lot of creative oats to sew. I was in a local Rock band called 'Outrage', but I longed to be a Model and had that 'California Dream'of making it in Hollywood. Venesa set forth and journeyed west for a month straight, (on foot) and wound up in Anaheim working at Disneyland. 'Unfortunately my music was put on hold for a few years while I pursued acting and modeling in L.A. I eventually got some exposure when I posed for the cover of the 96' College Girls Edition of Playboy. I also did some layouts for their Newsstand Specials. Venesa was also a Budweiser girl and posed for a many car magazines.'Then I got some acting gigs, my first movie I was the lead female alien from another planet in 'Femalien'. It actually did pretty well and they cast me again as the lead in the sequel Femalien 2. Among many other starring roles, in 'Citizens of Perpetual Indulgence' she was cast to portray the Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor. Playing beautiful starlets seemed to be a natural for Venesa as she was then cast to portray Ava Gardner in the E! True Hollywood Story of Ava Gardner. Venesa's next film 'Bloodolls', was attached to a music record deal and she had hopes of getting some of her music in the film. 'That's when I got inspired to write music again.
