Overzealous (adjective)-1. marked by excessive enthusiasm for and intense devotion to a cause or idea"Adrenaline-fired power pop in the vein of their hometown heroes, Superdrag." Nashville RageMelody is back. From the start Overzealous has striven to bring back melody, harmony, and good feeling to rock. Opposite of heavy rock today, Overzealous steers away from depressing lyrics and hard-core negative attitudes...after all life is short! Instead, they've developed on catchy melodies and positive moods. Overzealous is a four piece retro-rock band from Nashville, TN with two of the original from Knoxville. In the beginning, Singer/ Songwriter Dustin Sellers started the band with high school mate Brad Crittenden (lead guitar/ vocals). The band recorded a full length album, and played shows in the Knoxville area which created a volatile fan base. The first album consisted of catchy numbers "Intake", "No Sin Lynn," and "Sugar Plum Fairy." This ten song jewel was used as the ammunition for a live show with nostalgia and charisma abound. In 2002 the duo relocated to Murfreesboro, Tennessee to enter Middle Tennessee State University's recording industry program. It was here that drummer Eric Hill and bassist Josh Gifford hopped on board and brought a new meaning to high energy shows. New material and success came quick. With ultra catchy numbers such as "One Day Lover", "Cool with You", "Hannah", Overzealous won the Murfreesboro Battle of the Bands which awarded them free studio time at Wolf Studios in Nashville. After interest in the group's music they are now providing Overzealous additional time to cut another full length record. The future holds endless possibilities for the group. Overzealous isn't just putting out groovy melodies, the band gets off on their individualism coming together for one sound. $5.55 This album was released in 2001 and is a 100% homecooked musical meal using only the best fresh ingredients. If ya like this one, check out my latest album, "Indigo Moon" and the previous album " In The Moment" ... also here at CD Baby! Also, for those interested in the lyrics or full length samples of the music, just drop by my website. It's all available there....................Euphonious Corpus... What a strange title for an album... That kind of reaction is why I named this what I did. It's weird. And that's why I liked it! Actually the idea for this title came about 7 or 8 years ago. Before being a baby boomer artist was cool. When I started this project it seemed fitting. "A body of writings of a specific kind or subject (corpus) that are pleasing or agreeable to the ear (euphonious)" just seemed to say it all. Most of this music was written as recording of the album progressed but I couldn't resist the temptation to pull a couple from the archives. "Stargazer" was written back in 1972 and was a nice up tempo mandolin tune, with a rock treatment, about what else but groupies. Did I say I have a sense of humor? If it's not obvious, "Wash Rag" should eliminate any doubt. Good 'ole Mark (Rev. )DeFeis and I wrote that one about 1982. The dog barking was my idea. "Simple" was written during the production of "Pardon The Flaws...And Pass The Ketchup" which was never officially released. I had not planned on doing anything with the song until my daughters, Melissa and Mallory, told me I should record it. I'm glad I did and they really liked how it turned out. Go figure. A great lesson in perceptions. With this album, after having obtained a decent PC and recording software, I embarked on the exploration of the digital universe. While it may not be a state-of-the-art recording, it was definitely a learning experience of the cosmic kind. OK, this is for the techies...Since all this was done in my former apartment (before Aleksandra came into my life) and my neighbors valued their peace and quiet, all the instrument parts were recorded direct to the hard drive via my ART effects processor. The vocals were recorded with a AKG D330BT mic and the instruments used were as follows:Fender DG10 12-string acoustic guitar, Yamaha F310 6-string acoustic guitar, Gibson ('69) customized Les Paul Standard electric guitar, Epiphone (SG) G-300 ...
