| | Hour Glass Amaranthine CD Hour Glass Discography of CDs
Beautiful, evocative, searching for remembrances of where we've been and how we've lost our way. The songs of The Glass Hour, interwoven in delicate acoustic harmonies, and in the same moment, filled with powerful electric undertones, brings us one step closer to a musical understanding of the inherent contradictions of love and life. Haunting, highly charged female vocals span more extreme ranges from high to low, mirroring the subconscious tensions and ironies of opposing emotions and personalities within us all. Overall, the mood and spirit of TGH will always contain that element of another age, a world out of time. The Glass Hour formed in 2004 as harpist, singer, composer, Tracy DeMarco (Tracy K) sought to bring influences of progressive rock (Ed Nudd - guitar/drums) and classical guitar (Matt Schneider) to the underlying ambience of traditional folk harp melodies. The result was a new dance with "darkwave" as uniquely curious and intensely expressive as ever. "Amaranthine" is the trio's first full length release. After 2005, Ed and Matt went on to return to group and solo progressive rock recording and performing. Since 2005, Tracy has played various solo harp, improvizational, and group engagements in the Chicago area. Other artists have joined Tracy's solo harp, vocal, keyboard recordings and performances in a move towards more orchestrated sounds, including progressive rock guitarist and keyboardist, Brian Bradbury (formerly of Grigori 3-chicago). Check the band's site and myspace page for news on upcoming releases and performances in the Chicago area. Hour Glass Amaranthine Songs | 1. | In Winter |

$6.79 | | Karen Dalton In My Own Time CDs (1971) Remastered
Amaranthine songs
$12.05 Among the legendary singer-songwriters of the 1960s Greenwich Village folk scene, the late Karen Dalton was the interpreter and song-stylist of choice (in fact, Dylan himself rated Dalton as his favorite of the bunch). While she never achieved the kind of fame that her cohorts did, her influence was widely felt. One can hear her throaty, slow-burning take on country-blues singing in the voices of Lucinda Williams and other female alt-country singers. This 1971 release was only one of two proper albums she made in her lifetime, and the 2006 reissue includes all the original tracks, remastered, with a 32-page booklet and liner notes by Lenny Kaye (with input from other famous fans).
The late Karen Dalton has been the muse for countless folk rock geniuses, from Bob Dylan to Devendra Banhart, from Lucinda Williams to Joanna Newsom. Legendary singer Lacy J. Dalton actually adopted her hero’s surname as her own when she started her career in country music. Karen Dalton had that affect on people - her timeless, aching, blues-soaked, Native American spirit inspired both Dylan & The Band’s 'Katie’s Been Gone' (on The Basement Tapes) and Nick Cave’s 'When I First Came To Town' (from Henry’s Dream). Recorded over a six month period in 1970/71 at Bearsville, In My Own Time was Dalton’s only fully planned and realized studio album. The material was carefully selected and crafted for her by producer/musician Harvey Brooks, the Renaissance man ...
| | Ricky Gene Hall Bam! CD (2008)
Amaranthine album
$12.79 Ever since the Fabulous Thunderbirds scored a few hits in the '80s, there have been very few bands that managed to merge tasty and authentic-sounding blues licks with mainstream rock. That is, until Ricky Gene Hall & the Goods came along with 2008's Bam! The group (comprised of singer/guitarist Hall as well as bassist Tom Martin and drummer Rocky Evans) is not a bunch of young bucks -- which is something that the ...
