This is the first full-length CD from New Jersey's Cinema Star. The band was formed in early 1999 and has been playing live and recording ever since. Cinema Star has released a 3 song demo titled "Gallery" in 1999 and an EP entitled "Widescreen" in 2001. One of the bands songs, "clone", won a runner up award in the rock category of the 2001 John Lennon Songwriting Contest. The band has opened for some national acts including Remy Zero and South from the UK. This album is a culmination of some of the songs the band has been playing live over the past years. Recorded over the end of the summer / into winter of 2002.Melodic vocals and harmony over crunchy guitars, throbbing bass, and pounding drums. Enchanta, translated, means pleased or delighted to meet you. Truly Enchanta Murphy has been living up to her name for years. She has been an inspiration beyond words, to many that know her (or have met her). She started singling at an early age and was always putting extra or different words to popular songs. Enchanta sang in church, at home, and anywhere she was. Enchanta states "singing made me feel free and yet connected on a different level. I could sing songs of praise to God and Jesus, and everything seemed better then. Some legendary singers like Mahalia Jackson, Al Green, Anita Baker, and Stevie Wonder also influenced me.Further she also wrote a lot, evident by her first play, written and produced while Enchanta was in the fifth grade. These early years of writing continued when Enchanta began writing poetry at the age of 12. She states, " I was a shy child, and poems were a way of saying anything I wanted. I also prayed to God and he helped me write more expressively. Then singing became my way of expressing my inner spirit. I knew lyrics were a powerful source to a person's spirit and soul. In her song "Right Here", Enchanta speaks of sure unwavering loyalty to God and Jesus in any circumstance. "I am always playing that Right Here song and reminding myself that I'm content waiting on the Lord for all he has promised me." Born in North Carolina, Enchanta had a dream of singing like her Aunts and becoming a doctor. She states, "They said I couldn't carry a note as a child". But after going off to college, Enchanta joined the campus Gospel Choir and kept singing for friends and family. "It was ever so soothing to my soul and spirit to sing songs of praise and love. That kept from being homesick." One of Enchanta's close friends in college once heard her singing and said, "You sound like an angel singing to the Lord". As fate would have it, Enchanta states she was raised with God and Jesus always in her life; being taught to pay her tithes, sing to the Lord God and Jesus, and practice Christian behavior at all times. She also credits her songs to helping her through some difficult times in life. For example, "Don't Give Up" was inspired by the days of medical school, when her mother slipped into and out of a coma twice, her father died unexpectedly, and her academic trials almost derailed her pathway to becoming a physician. Enchanta says her strong love for God and Jesus fueled all of her soul and tells everyone, "God gave me these songs". Total, Enchanta has written over 30 songs, and recorded thirty songs on 2 compact discs as her gift of praise to God and Jesus for helping her through medical school and OBGYN residency.
